Looks like it's back-ordered from all the people buying it but it should be honoured - just might take a while to get!

I considered it. Could probably easily sell it for $2-300 BNIB.

Re: Ingersol Rand Impact - August 17, 2015 06:45 pm UTC

I debated as well but really didn't want to have to go through trying to resell it.
I figured my dewalt is only rated for 300 and was 40$ more so this is definitely worth it, and I am planning on grabbing a big compressor once we move anyways so will be covered there too.

Haha, well every other goof that they have found they have honored so I think we are ok.

Reading RFD experiences, it sounds like they will honour it for the quantity of 1. In my case they might cancel my second unit.

That just means you should order this one instead:

http://www.amazon.com/Ingersoll-2235TIMAX-Drive-Impact-Wrench/dp/B00LV9Y1FE

1350 ft-lbs of nut-busting torque. 1320 if you go with the quiet version. It's the new model of the one we ordered...came out around the new year.

Lol this gave me a good laugh in the description
"Nut-busting torque of 1350 feet-pounds"

That thing is a beast though, that's crazy. Just hope you can keep your shoulder on.

The video reviews show it's not even close to being a handful - people were one-handing it in a lot of cases.

That's good to hear, the power would be amazing to have, I certainly wouldn't hesitate to grab one if it got in the 100$ range.

Re: Ingersol Rand Impact - August 21, 2015 01:49 pm UTC

Has anyone been able to figure out what the air requirements for this are.
I am thinking an 80 gallon tank and most are around 15cfm at 90 psi which I am sure will be fine but I just want to double check.
Also are you guys looking for dual stage or single stage?

Most of the guys are running higher pressure, higher CFM to the gun based on what I read on the forums as it's all about pressure at the tool and there is typically a large pressure drop at the tool/once running.

I'm looking for a dual stage compressor, preferably. I know there are some very high CFM@90-100+ PSI single stage compressors out there but I'd prefer dual stage if the cost is reasonable.

Re: Ingersol Rand Impact - August 21, 2015 02:09 pm UTC

It's a big jump. So for an 80 gal that does 15cfm at 90 it's about 1000, for the same but at 30cfm your looking at $2000.
The annoying part is that all of the name brand stores only carry the 15cfm stuff.
To produce the at least 25cfm it will need at least a 7.5hp motor.
I will keep hunting, I think this will end up being a princessauto or TSC purchase.

Re: Ingersol Rand Impact - August 21, 2015 03:46 pm UTC

I run an impact just fine on my 80 gallon 18cfm compressor, keep in mind you're not going to be running it for 5 minutes straight. I have my compressor set to 130 shut off pressure and it takes a while before it even drops to 110 and starts up.

Re: Ingersol Rand Impact - August 23, 2015 01:53 am UTC

Ive owned this gun for about 5-6yrs now. The thing has taken a beating around Brightside and on cars and it keeps going. It is that tough and the built quality is great. And mine was a refurb i bought from a guy on kijiji for $200.

I also picked one up earlier this week. Now i can have one at home and at the shop.
