Comon... I'm itching to hear how you guys did this weekend since I couldn't make it. My bro was at St Thomas and filled me in on a few details... but not enough.

We had a great time, and the weather was really nice. I made my fist pass on pump gas and got a 14.03@96.8MPH, I knew it was gonna be a good day. I filled up 116 octane race gas and ran a 14.01@101.3MPH. Huge increase in MPH. The car had insane top end power. I kept getting these shitty 2.0 and 2.1 60' times and that was holding me back. Then I ran a 13.78@101MPH, and the guy in the time slip booth told me it was the end of the day for me cause I didn't have a helmet. I got pissed off and immediately want from the time slip booth to the starting line, no cool down time. Somehow the car hooked up and I ran a 13.355@101.8MPH with a 1.76 60' time. After that my day was over. DSMs were beating up on most other street cars there, we only couldn't hang with the trailer queens there. I raced this Pontiack Firebird WS6 twice and beat him bad both times, needless to say he was suprised [Linked Image]

Well Mike all in all not a bad time. I was definitely hoping for some better results. Everyone was down on times from what I gather. (wicked headwind - no racegas)I had a couple good battles with your bro's friends stang, but for some reason everytime I raced another DSM, disaster struck so that was kinda weird [Linked Image]

I had a great time Sunday, weather was great, plus it was my first time dragracing, my best time was 14.9 at 91.8 MPH, all I got done to the car so far is a 3" catback, HKS air filter and the boost set at 15psi. So, it looks like I have long ways to go.

By the way, what does a stock Talon do in a 1/4 mile?? Kind of want to compare if the mods made it a little faster.

Carlos,

Unfortunately it sounds like you didn't make the car much faster. [Linked Image] Stock is low 15s in the quarter.

I'd say by your MPH and mods you'd probably be around 14.5 if you put down a good 60 ft and really banged through those gears. [Linked Image]

hey James,
I remember you and the Neon.
My 60ft was 2.033, doesn't look very good, oh well.
I'm assuming a good 60ft would be around 1.6s??

Hey Carlos

With 91.8MPH trap speeds you shuld run around 14.5 It's all in the launch, it either makes or breaks the run. You should be pulling off 1.8 sec 60' times. If you get an upgraded clutch you can lower these times even more.

Carlos..

Hey, I was pulling off 1.9 60' times with my '91 TSi last year, almost all stock and on a crappy clutch!! [Linked Image] I agree with Conrad on this one...get those aggresive launches down pat and your times will rock! lol btw my 60' times on my Neon were 2.25 [Linked Image] Not too bad for a FWD on street tires!!
