Sun. Apr. 17 - St. Thomas Test & Tune

Sun. Apr. 17 - St. Thomas Test & Tune - April 07, 2005 05:43 pm UTC
So who's going to join Nathan an I on our first track day of the season?
I propose a convoy, departing Mississauga at 8am.
And in the event that the 17th falls victim to percipitation, we shall hold Sat. Apr. 23 on stand-by.

I'll be there if my super secret paint mod is finished.
Oh crap. I shouldn't have said there was a mod. Oh, crap. I shouldn't have said it was a secret. Oh, crap. I certainly shouldn't have said it was Painting.
Ah, it's too hot today.

Rob s will you be the leader for the convoy?
Posted By: Rob Strelecki
Re: Sun. Apr. 17 - St. Thomas Test & Tune - April 12, 2005 04:05 pm UTC
OK sure, why not
CONVOY will start in Mississauga at the Britannia & Hurontario (Hwy. 10) ESSO station (southwest corner).
This is one block south of the 401/Hurontario exit.
I will be there at 10:00 AM, and we'll leave at 10:15.
We'll stop at the 401/Wendy's service station in Ingersoll so that Joe and his technicolor dream boat can join the convoy, along with anyone else who's already half way to the track.
I expect we'll get there by 11:15 and head off again at 11:30.
Looking forward to it!
//EDIT - see updated times above.

Remember that the track opens later on sundays this year as a result of last years litigations against the dragstrip. I think it opens at 11 am on Sundays, can anyone confirm?

Re: Sun. Apr. 17 - St. Thomas Test & Tune - April 12, 2005 04:28 pm UTC
^^^
Last year it was gates @ 10, and racing 11-4.
Now, I have just called the track and their recording says the Sunday test & tune is 1pm - 5pm.
I have updated my CONVOY post (above) with the new times.
Thanks to Nate for pointing this out!

They're actually open at 9am for some other event.
I like to get there at least half an hour before the T&T starts so that I can get the car ready.

They have unleaded Sunoco 104 I think. However, I hvae found that in previous years they don't have any in stock early in the season so it's best to bring your own.

Well actually, it's all part of the master plan.
They will all be fumigated with partially combusted Ultra94 on the way down, so I expect nobody will be conscious enough follow me into the track.

Do they test the car for safety? I'm still waiting for a 4-point harness for my new racing seats. How many KM is the track away from toronto? I only have 200km max.

Re: Sun. Apr. 17 - St. Thomas Test & Tune - April 15, 2005 04:49 pm UTC
I have rented a cheetah costume, so whoever runs the slowest has to do pushups whilst being jeered and cheered by the other dsmers.
If any v8 guys or honda guys try to jeer, the cheat has carte blanche to attack!!!

Re: Sun. Apr. 17 - St. Thomas Test & Tune - April 15, 2005 06:12 pm UTC
Nate..
Too bad Joe isn't coming, now we have no certainty as to who will be the Cheetah!
Ingersoll Roll Call!!!Does anybody need us to stop at the Wendy's rest stop?
Speak now, or we'll see you later at the track

Ok here's the deal. I'm headed to Hamilton to Pauls house 9am to pickup a helmet. If I time it correctly I should be able to sync with the convoy at Guelph and the 401.
I'll have Rob's Cell to help me do that.
See you guys tomorrow.

Your pictures dont work!
I was pissed I only got one run. I likly would have been wearing the cheatah first and only run was good for a 14.0 at 100 mph with a 2.0 60
I was excited and dumped the clutch, that was low boost at 10 psi.

Re: Sun. Apr. 17 - St. Thomas Test & Tune - April 18, 2005 03:57 am UTC
5 runs.
Couldn't shift worth a damn (thin tranny fluid), and I was just about to change the fluid when it started to rain.
I did get a good toon on though
Running slightly rich @ 19psi w/ 26deg max advance and zero knock
