S-Ville T&T Oct. 6 - October 02, 2007 04:48 pm UTC

Ok, so who's all going? There were a good number of DSMs the last time I was there, I'm hoping to see just as many this time around. I believe this is the last T&T of the year at S-ville, so come on guys, lets try and make it out!

I'm in New Brunswick for the next 6 weeks until I move to Sudbury. I was going to go home from Thanksgiving, but I don't get Monday off here.

Have fun all! Wish I was there!

Hmmm, never knew Shannonville had a 1/4 mile track. Has it always been there or just something new? How does it compare to the other tracks? Whats their track prep like, for me I find Cayuga to be far superior to St. Thomas.
Posted By: KEVIN KIRELUK

Re: S-Ville T&T Oct. 6 - October 02, 2007 08:45 pm UTC

Cayuga is the better track. Traction isn't too bad at S-ville, as the V8's lay down a good patch for us. Giz was able to cut a 1.6 on street tires! Also, if you have a fast car you have to be on the brakes pretty good to slow down in time, unlike Cayuga where you can coast down. I've also never been teched at S-ville, so helmets are optional, LOL.

Re: S-Ville T&T Oct. 6 - October 02, 2007 10:31 pm UTC

Shannonville ain't the best track and does not have the organisation but it is all right to let loose every once in a while. Kind of a red neck set up but again...

The T&T is just that, so they do not tech the cars, which is good and bad. They normaly have some Sonoco 110 octane but not last time. Their is a gas station about 5km away that has good old 94, it is just off the 401.

My plans are to attend this last event as long as I do not have to work (funky schedule).

I'll let whoever I line up with spank my but but will bet a buck for every run. Just to spice things up a bit...

I'll be there with the new set up in the Colt. Just breaking it in, so not sure how much I'll let loose, as in boost.

Re: S-Ville T&T Oct. 6 - October 03, 2007 11:23 am UTC

Ya the back of the track isn't even lit up, so you gotta have good headlights. If I'm not mistaken, I think the dragstrip is actually part of the road course. So if they are running the full road corse, you can't use the dragstrip lol.

I heard on the radio this morning they are calling for clear skies and 28*C. Thats pretty ridiculous.

Normally I would be game, but I have plans already. Stupid friends getting married, lol.

Doesn't look like I will break into the 12's this year. Didn't even beat my personal best this year of 13.1, although I only attended the track once this season.

Ghis, good luck my friend.

Kevin, it was nice to meet you last time.

Hope you boys have fun.

Stay safe,

I leave my headlights off, just turn on the cluster. After a couple hundred runs you get a fell for where the end of the track is wink

Reminds me when I first got transfered to Nova Scotia. Trip back home was a good 12.5 hours. I use to do do the return trip every few week-end. Racked millions of miles in no time.

Why don't you get a hold of Troy Bennett and haul his a$$ over. You guys could hook up in New Bee and take the "comute" to S'Ville for a few strolls. I'm sure that Troy would be up for it.

RESULTS:

First, Last and Only run I did (we got rained out):

RT: .88
60 ft: 1.83
1/4: 13.51
MPH: 101.11

16 lbs of boost. Cranked it up a bit to try to break 12s tonight, but as I staged we got rained out.

Better than the mid 15's I was running last year and this year. 2nd time out this year due to my catastrophic engine failure at the last T&T in June.

First Mustang Kill by the way!! And I have a video of my run:

Nice Kill Ryan. Saw that run myself by the fence. That stang sounded beefy too. Did one of you Talon guys blow out a clutch? From where I was standing thats all we could smell. All in all, the talons were owning the track.

Re: S-Ville T&T Oct. 6 - October 07, 2007 02:29 am UTC

I went to Cayuga, no rain!
I didn't get in too many passes, too many ppl.

60' - 1.729
330 - 4.874
1/8 - 7.471
mph - 98.51
1000- 9.720
1/4 - 11.549
mph - 127.73

Best MPH of the day for me was 128.09mph. Had I got in some more passes, I'm sure I had a 10 or a 130mph slip in me.

Re: S-Ville T&T Oct. 6 - October 07, 2007 02:41 am UTC

I got 12.2/121.5 with 2.0 60foot and bogged 2 . I just can't drive. It was still fun and yes the talons were kicking butt. The Colt did 13.5/112.5mph with no traction.
Posted By: Ghislain Goudreau

Re: S-Ville T&T Oct. 6 - October 07, 2007 02:44 am UTC

Yes, that was a defenite good run Ryan. Nice numbers and good kill.

Best I did was again with a pretty red light. 12.9 at 106mph. On the second run I did 13.13 with a 1.78 60'. Did not get any race gas and got some knock. Never again on 94 pee water.

Plan is to go to Norwalk so I wish that I'll do better then.

All in all it was a short evening but I at least got out.

The only smoking I did was on Paul S Front Bumper. I tried the Antilag while in the staging lanes and spiewed some soot onto his nice white car. I felth like an a$$. Paul was cool with it, he did not chew my face off. Sorry again Paul.

Wade, Tyler, Matt, Randy and one more guy from North of Belleville showed up so it was a good turn out.

That's where you went Kevin! I was hoping to see your beast in action!

Congrats on the 11.

Tyler.. Clean car as usual. Great runs. Great to see everyone there tonight.

Yes yes... Talons OWNED the track tonight. Giz, Paul, Matt, Tyler, Myself, Randy, and another guy with a 2ga.

All running mid 13's to low 12's.

Little story about the stang as well:

As I was staging, I was talking to the mustang owner's girlfriend.

ME: Hey, nice stang... yours?
Her: No, it's my boyfriends. It's fast (quoting)
Me: Oh ya? What is he running?
Her: Mid 14s. Stock
Me: Really? Wow... (boyfriend walks up)
Him: Yeah, I am pulling 14.5-14.7's yada yada yada
Me: Wow, well good luck tonight man!

We end up being selected to run against each other. PWNED.

Got back and Giz was congratulating me for the run and I mentioned it was my first mustang kill. The girlfriend was standing right beside me with their son.

I went to shake the guys hand for a good race. He just said "yup".

T'was good.

I definatly need some better driving , LOL. I need to find the 'sweetspot' to launch from. I either spin too much or bog. I find myself getting excited in 1st when I spin and I shift early, which causes me to bog going into 2nd. I used to have such good throttle control with my FWD laser, look what this AWD's done to me, lol! A special thanks to my new coaches Eric and Tim ;), thanks for helping out the rookie!

Speaking of records Reza, I don't recall hearing about another 16G car as fast as your in this country. I feel you are the fastest 16G DSM in Canada! Way to go man!

Posted By: Ghislain Goudreau

Re: S-Ville T&T Oct. 6 - October 07, 2007 02:46 pm UTC

Same here, not sure if someone else here has gone this fast with a 16G.

Best I could do was 12.3 with good mph (115) last year and this year a single 12.5 and a suck a$$ 106mph.

Edit; Ok found the link
http://www.dsmtimes.org/times.php?Header_Type=Turbo_16g&Page=1

This is the first name I do recognise;
#33 Lionel Chichioco 11.915 117.71 7.727 91.28 1.697 big 16g

Reza should defenately submit his slip, it would make him #14...

Re: S-Ville T&T Oct. 6 - October 07, 2007 04:36 pm UTC

Ya it was definately fun while it lasted, I gotta figure out what's wrong with my car though. I guess I was the slowest Talon at the track, my time was down to 13.9 now. I had zero knock on my first run, so I added 1* of timing and then I logged 7* of KNOCK!!!

I keep forgeting the guy's name in the 2G with the identical mods as me... remind me who you are... what was your best time?

Makes me start to think, of those first 13 cars, how many of them are full-weight daily drivers? AND of those first 13, only 3 of them aren't sponsored/shop cars! I'm more and more impressed with what Reza's been able to accomplish! Congrats my friend!

Thanks man, I will submit my slip to the dsmtimes page. You wonder how others get more MPH out of it. I think I know how to squeek it a little more wink. With what is is now, I should be able to drive it into the low 11's, just needed 1 or 2 more runs in yesterday.
But, congrats on your time as well, your car HAULS!

Re: S-Ville T&T Oct. 6 - October 07, 2007 05:59 pm UTC

Randy, I think you need to get a new O2 sensor, or see if your wideband can simulate the narrowband input to the ECU. Your O2 was lazy and without being able to calibrate your fuel trims, it's going to be hard to tune out the knock.

Once you get your O2 changed, and possibly swap out that MAF, calibrate your fuel trims and then start adding timing. Your car should be good for the 12's easy.
