I plan to go, still somehow doubt I'll have my TSi on the road though mad

So I'll probably be there in my ESi, to watch, again. But there, nonetheless. Also, I'll be leaving a little early as I have a hockey game in Oshawa that night.

Ugh, I'll be around all day Sunday both of you guys. If either one of you wants me to give you a hand getting your damned cars running, I'm there.

Broken foot and all. (Yeah, broke the same foot again!!)

You can't help mine, my friend. It runs fine *knock on wood*, but it's just got to get some bushings installed, and a camber kit.

Also, I wont be available on Sunday. There is a repatriation on Sunday frown

Re: Shannonville Sat Sep 19th - September 17, 2009 11:22 pm UTC

Heard of the gig on Sunday.

I defenately plan on been there Saturday.

It will be my 3rd or 4th events this year. I have not been able to do a good time. This time I'll crank up the boost, use Antilag and defenately the NLTS.

Swim or sink.

ps: I got CAA and S'ville is defenately within reach of my barn!!!

I'd love to have the same attitude, but I'm pushing it as it is. I'm relying on my car right now to get me to/from school.

I need the car for another week yet until the new car comes.
I'll be going hard but not break things hard - hopefully.

If your using the good stuff again, you need to get aggressive with the tune to make use of the extra octane. A pump gas/street tune just won't do. You need to really lean it out, and run more timing. Anti-lag and NLTS are defenately good to use demon Lots of luck buddy!

Re: Shannonville Sat Sep 19th - September 19, 2009 07:56 pm UTC

I'm in the same boat with the Meth Kevin. I added it in and didn't lean it out enough. You wanna talk about backfire? WOW!

Main goal tonight is to get the car dialed in. I haven't had time to tune really, so this is the perfect night for it.

Re: Shannonville Sat Sep 19th - September 20, 2009 01:28 pm UTC

Good morning everuone. Last night was a blast, very cool night, very busy event; one of us reached a milestone.

As for myself I got back into the game. I did 6 runs; 5 of them were into the 12. Best was 12.354 at 113mph. Although a Foul (0.476 R/T) with a 1.729 60'. That was the first of 4 runs that I did with Matt and only one that crossed first (insert shuffle). I was frisky and wanted to get a good R/T...

We did 3 more runs, all of them very tight. I found myself scream; Nooooo!!! as he freight trained me at the end of the run. It was so close that we did not know who won. "Yellow" time slips never lie. I got him off the line with a 0.662 R/T and 1.883 60' but things clearly changed after the 1/8 mile. My troat is sore this morning from screaming so loud.

All in all the car behaved very well. I was getting some misfire at the St-Thomas event; the 3 event old BPR6ES gapped at 0.025" were replaced with a fresh set of BPR8ES gapped at 0.023". I do not like that tight of a gap but the results were good. Might get a ARC-2 for next year.

All in all their is one more S'ville event on 9 Oct plus one 1/8 mile at mosport next week end. At this time I plan to attend both.

Re: Shannonville Sat Sep 19th - September 20, 2009 02:28 pm UTC

Last night was a total bust for me. I had a blast on the track, felt good to run the car again. Best was a shitty 14.9@90 due to a shitty tune and fighting knock all night long. Every run I did was too rich and full of knock, and being that this car is my DD, I didn't want to risk blowing it up. I did 5 runs, all of them at 16 psi with no meth trying to dial in a good pump gas tune on some 94.

All in all though, my car gets me to and from school every day (200kms), drove it down from Ottawa last night, ripped off 5 passes at Shannonville, and drove it home. What else could I ask for?

Depending on whether or not Sam comes down from Sudbury to see her parents on Thanksgiving will dictate whether or not I'm at the last T+T. Still have a lot of work to do, but the good news is I'm a lot leaner in my tune than what I was.

Oh, and the Auto launches like a sonofabitch. demon

Re: Shannonville Sat Sep 19th - September 20, 2009 02:37 pm UTC

Launch is defenately good.

Leaning it would defenately help; take your time and find the ball park. You will need to fine tune evey event. All in all it takes time and I know that you'll have it nailled in no time; maybe by next year but what the heck!!!

Dialling in these cars is what we do. Their is ups and down but the chalenge is what we are after.

Bah, car feels better though with the leaned out tune, knock or not. Threw the logs up on link to see if anyone had any ideas. Had a freaking blast though!

If your results were good, why don't you like to keep the gap that small Giz ?

Personally, I keep my gap much lower than that, with excellent results and excellent gas mileage. I never quite understand why most want to keep the largest gap as possible smile

When I check my plugs, if the gap has opened up to 0.023" to 0.025" over a few months, I toss em in the garbage tongue

Ow, 23 thou will be from now on. Just me not liking the idea at first but kind of converted now!!!

I'll probably check the Gap after each event and will toss often. Heck I might even bring a new set with me each time I step out.

I had an absolute blast last too....Ghiz and I had 4 very close close races, which really made the night a lot of fun. My car was pulling like a raped ape, and so was Gislain's.

I finally made it into the 11's on the final pass of the night - 11.9 @ 122mph. Woot!

Jamie's car was working very well too - especially with a cracked manifold. 12.3 was it?

Ryan, I'm sorry your car wasn't running the greatest, but I'm sure you'll get it dialed in for the last one.

Sorry I didnt stay guys! I went to the track but had an ice hockey game that night, and saw at least a 20 minute lineup to get in. Wasn't worth it for 10-20 minutes of watching. Glad to hear it was a blast, and once again sorry for missing out!
Posted By: Ryan Laliberte

Re: Shannonville Sat Sep 19th - September 20, 2009 08:34 pm UTC

Wasn't even worth watching, it was such a slow night that most of us really didn't get going until after about 9ish.

Who was in the grey Talon that waited to launch(1.2 reaction) against me in the PT Cruiser and my .667 reaction. I thot I was doin okay until you steamrolled me by the 1/8 and went on to a 12.9 @ 106 to my 14.7 @ 98.lol

Re: Shannonville Sat Sep 19th - September 20, 2009 09:11 pm UTC

That was YOU in the PT cruiser? I watched that race and thought "Oh that PT Cruiser is toast".

That was Matt.

Where was the Colt Wade?

Re: Shannonville Sat Sep 19th - September 20, 2009 09:22 pm UTC

LOl. Last nite sucked for tracton, as I was running 20 psi and with 15 psi earlier in the year I did 14.4@95,
With Pauls Talon down, I let him drive the Colt, and because of the huge line-ups early in the nite he left with only 2 runs in.
Posted By: Ryan Laliberte

Re: Shannonville Sat Sep 19th - September 20, 2009 09:26 pm UTC

sh!t, I THOUGHT I saw Paul there. I recognized that blonde curly hair guy, but didn't think it was him since his Talon was down. How did he do in the Colt?

Colt did 14.0/112mph with NO traction in 1,2,3 gear. Thanks Wade for letting me drive it.

Re: Shannonville Sat Sep 19th - September 20, 2009 11:40 pm UTC

Actually, I really need to give a big thanx to Paul for helping me get to the 11's....He has helped me a LOT with the car over the last few years (both wrenching and coaching).

Also, if it weren't for him I wouldn't have even been able to run last night. He lent me a set of rims and tires after the dyno finished mine off last monday. I was also having ignition issues. He lent me the coil and wires off his show talon for last night.

Thanx again Paul!!!

Re: Shannonville Sat Sep 19th - September 21, 2009 12:40 am UTC

I think that was me Wade. Last or second last run of the night.
I was a bit concerned about the manifold but it held up great. That's my excuse anyway for the slow leave.

Overall an awesome night. Lot's of quick times and nobody broke.
Hopefully next time they can get their act together and get things running a little smoother.

Cough; I saw him alright on my first pass. He pulled an 11.268 at 129.67mph with a .573 r/t and 2.016 60'.

I later went to him and shook his hand. I told him that he pretty much ripped me a new ars. We had a good laugh. Again; very well build car. He's got a 405 cu/in and sparys 150 shot. Paul told me that he squize 7xx horse outta that thing.

He later got into the 10.

ragtop rollbars 02(maybe not an 02 but that style right before they "stopped" making them) That be the one that was there.

It was definitely nice =]
