manifold hightemp paint - December 17, 2003 04:34 am UTC

I was just wondering how hot the average turbo manifold gets? I was looking into cleanning it up and putting on some hightemp paint to keep it in good shape. Does anyone have any recomendations on what type of paint to use, one that wont burn off. the highest temp paint I have seen is 1400f from what I've read I dont think that will cut it I would prefer not to have to bake it.
thanks

I've never measured the temp on the outside of a manifold, but the EGTs can reach 1600 * F, so I'd think the outside wouldn't be too far behind that. So I don't think a 1400 * F paint will cut it.

I though it was 1600*F, it was only 1200*F
