K&N intake - December 13, 2000 01:36 am UTC

I was at the Automotive warehouse and saw the new K&N 1G N/T air intake system (pipe and filter and air can eliminator) for $210 ,
Is that a good price or is there another company that makes an air intake for the N/T that is cheaper ?

$210 is a little steep.

I know WeaponR makes an Intake system for the 1G NT. It's made out of Carbon Fiber. I don't know how much this one cost but probably $150 to $200...

I'm pretty sure any good Muffler Shop could make an Intake Tube. Or you could ask any Metal Fabrication Shop to make one. That would be a little cheaper and it would probably be the same.

Steve, just wondering if K&N actually makes one of these systems for the 1G NT. I contacted them when those things first came out and they said they didn't have one for our cars. Just curious to know if they have one now? Maybe you should ask them if they are willing to do a group purchase for this item. I know I would get one for sure.

Ghislain, the last time I checked the price for the weapon R intake, it was $300CND +taxes. They might of dropped their prices since then! Or you can always get from the states.

What would be wrong with the homemade ones that Tyler (Ghislain too I think) made? Or are you going for the professional appearance?

I think a "Home Made" Air Intake System could look as professional as a bought one. Good workmanship can look pretty cool. It is also nice to have something of it's own.

Buddy wold say; Hey, were did you get this???

Your line would be; Made it myself!!!
