Just wanted to take a brief moment to introduce myself. Sunny is the name, i am from mississauga, and about 3 weeks ago finally picked up a car i had wanted since I was 16.

Picked up a 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T

Mods Thus Far:

Fully rebuild engine 8.5:1 compression
new valves
turbosmart Type II Adj. BOV
Tanny: new clutch, new clutch slave
Tokico shocks and Eibach sportline springs
Momo EVO steering wheel
lightweight / short shifter
Pivot shifting light
stereo: Infinity deck Inifinity speakers all around
side skirts
full clear tail lights
sparco racing pedals
neons- int and under body
boost guage / air-fuel guage
strut bar
subs / amp
GSX rims powdercoated black
Greddy turbo time

Im sure there is more, but i cant think of anything right now.

Near Future Mods:

Plan on putting in a new deck, blacking out the middle tail light, repainting the front bumper, blacking out the headlights, HID kit at 8000k, repowdercoating the rims, grounding kit

As soon as Im done exams.

Looking to put in a FMIC,slotted rotors, as soon as I have the funds to buy one

In a couple months, Hamza (with the EVO) plans on giving me his 16G turbo, so i plan on putting that in and doing the internals necessary

It would be great if you guys ever meet in mississauga to get together, i look forward to seeing you all soon.

Regards,

Sunny

I think you met the guy who owned the car before me, if it was in the last 3 weeks, he was there getting the used vehicle package.

For what has been done to the car, and the general condition...I think it was a pretty good deal. It was listed at 7k and i got it for 6k.

It passed emissions and certified with no problem.

Is that a decent price for the car?

Seems alright to me.

I talked to the old owner and asked him about it, he told me it was not fast and it was only at 15psi.

To me, thats good news for you. I doubt the car has been overboosted.

Just make sure to stay ontop of the maintainence.

Alot of the guys here like to buy the parts from a member named Ziggy at RtmRacing. and bunch of guys here including myself get work done by Helder Dupont.

Goodluck buddy,
Aaron

welcome aboard.

Aaron is right if you stay on top of maintainence. These cars are amazing. I let my go and I have regreted putting off a timing belt ever since. Along with the 5th gear problem.

But with people like Ziggy and Helder along with many others on this board. Finding parts is atleast never an issue. Along with getting help.

Enjoy the time spent with the car. =] Come out for a cruise in may too =]

Jay.

Welcome.

If that 16g is from an Evo, it wont do you any good. It will simply be an expensive paper weight.

Also, you do not have to replace the engine internals for only a 16g.

Welcome Sunny!

Sounds like you got a nice car for a nice price...

There are occasional meets in Mississauga when the weather is warmer. I haven't heard of one yet this year? The monthly Yorkdale meets are pretty close.

See you around 'Sauga!

Why would a 16g be an expensive paperweight?

Thanks for such a warm welcome, its greatly appreciated.

I also was wondering why a 16G would be useless?

Also, im aware this is not the right section, but would anyone know where to get a FMIC with the piping kit?

I should have been more specific. I automatically thought about the Evo 8/9 from the US, but forgot that now you could import the Evo 1 (and hence grab parts from it).

Sunny, if the 16g is from an Evo 4 or higher, it is useless for you. If it is from any other Evo, it is fine.
