Ziggy!

Ziggy! - July 09, 2009 02:50 am UTC

Basically I newbed a piston ring install and broke a set of oil rings for a piston. This basically leaves me needing to buy another full set of rings, which is a crappy situation to be in as the almost full set of remaining rings are useless. Ziggy opened another set of the rings I bought off him and pulled out a few of the rings I needed and only charged me half the price of a full kit. Saving me about 30-40$. He basically loses money, unless someone else has the same problem as me. Turned another really crappy situation into a tolerable and learned experience. You really didn't have to do that, just another sterling example of what a great guy Ziggy is.

I can't even believe anyone would do that. I certainly wouldn't. I guess he's more here to help than to make money.

Yessir, Ziggy has really done more than obligated to do for me a few times now.

Re: Ziggy! - July 10, 2009 01:35 pm UTC

My goal is to do both....make a living WHILE helping....win/win..

The way I look at it:

I made some profit when I sold Graeme the first set of rings.
On the replacements, I am losing a bit, because I am only charging him for half a set....so maybe I am even now...financially....

BUT..

1) I have a very happy customer

and

2) I have 2/3 of a set of rings on my shelf, and am in a position to help the next guy stuck in this situation. If and when that happens, if I charge him for half a set of rings, and I am back to making a profit on both sets. I can either break even or win....while helping out....why WOULDN'T I do that?

Re: Ziggy! - July 24, 2009 02:26 am UTC

I ordered a new clutch and flywheel etc for my Evo1 through Ziggy. I was under the impression that it was a 6 bolt engine, but when we opened it up and discovered that early evos are actually all 7 bolts, I had a little snafu on my hands and Ziggy was able to get me a 7 bolt flywheel very businessman like that same night.

I really appreciated the last minute help.

Ohhhh ya?! Well. I sold Stacey Shaw a HKS SSQV which I couldn't find the rubber O ring for. So I sent him the parts anyway, let Ziggy know, and he had in in the mail towards Stacey very quickly.
A+ Ziggy!

Re: Ziggy! - October 14, 2009 11:25 pm UTC

Thanks guys....
Thanks guys, I try hard....but a lot of the credit being given here is for quick shipping, and that is my courier company smile

I have been using a local courier for a while now, and they have been awesome. They have changed owners once or twice, but I have stuck by them through their tough times, and it was worth it. They have expanded their coverage area now, so I can cover MOST places in Ontario with them, and they are a flat rate up to 30lbs (used to be 50lbs). They are also not much more than canada post on the average package, and a LOT quicker, and have never lost a single package on me yet smile

Their ONLY downside is that if I ship with signature required, and they have to make a second delivery attempt to get the signature, they charge a second freight charge. That is why I ship 99% of the stuff "no signature required"....but they WILL allow me to say where to leave stuff "at the side door", "leave in mailbox", "leave with next door neighbour", etc.

Anyways, glad you guys are pleased with the service smile
