Compact Flash card

Compact Flash card - February 19, 2014 06:03 am UTC

I was given a Nikon D100(old but hey it was free!), I need a 2 or 4GB compact flash card for it. Cards larger than 4gb are cheap and readily available but they aren't compatible with it and I don't feel like dumping $20+ on a 2gb card for such and old camera just to dick around with.

If anyone has an old card laying around collecting dust I'd gladly give it a new home.

I think if you do a firmware update on the D100 you get the ability to use larger cards

4GB will work with the camera but apparently it causes an issue with speed, for some reason it makes read/writes to the card very slow.

Any of the Nikons I ever had were all slow writing to even to an old 512mb card.

Never had any issues with my D5000 and my co-workers D7000, we used 16gb cards in them, so they must have fixed the issue at some point.
