Info on this buy is in the other thread. As I said, I am ordering 10 sets. Please sign up below, and first 10 guys get them. If more want them,I will see if I can get more later. If you trust me, you can pay in advance. Otherwise, you will have seven days after I notify you that I have the parts to get the money to me, or they will go to the next person on the list. Price is in the other thread. I need to finalize it, but it won't be far off that number!!

Ziggy, if it uses the same bulbs as stock I'm in.

I can pay cash when I pick em up, or I can pay by CC up front.

Re: 1gb headlights - January 20, 2005 02:09 am UTC

I will email and ask tomorrow. I know they come without bulbs, I can inquire what bulbs they use.
Paying cash at pickup would save you 3.5%. I am assuming I am going to have no problems selling 10, so anyone who backs out later, theirs will go to #11 on the list, etc. (not that I am saying you would, I know better wink )

Re: 1gb headlights - January 21, 2005 12:56 am UTC

Ok, I just finished faxing through what they wanted to get setup to distribute their stuff here. I think it would have been easier to order weapons grade plutonium, LOL. I had to give them everything except the birth certificate for my firstborn.

Anyways, we are finalizing the deal tomorrow. I should have shipping costs then. I should also be getting a price list shortly. I have also had one person inquire about their clear corners. I don't know yet what my price on these is going to be, but even at their retail and if I had to pay full shipping, I could sell them to you at $49.95. They will probably be less. I was planning on ordering 2 sets. They have none in stock right now, but are expecting them within 1 1/2 weeks, and it is likely to take that long for my payment to get down there and for them to get ready to ship anyways. Anyone else interested in these? Should I get more? List for lights now stands at:

2. Jay McLelland (has paid a deposit)
3. Gabriel Shim
4. Tony Thoppil (also wants clear corners)
5. Paul Bishop (will pay when picking up)

Re: 1gb headlights - January 22, 2005 02:23 am UTC

I have just spoken again with X3, and the first batch of 10 sets are ordered. He is supposed to be shipping them on Monday, I should receive them next Friday night, Jan. 28th. If all goes as planned, I will have them in time for the February Yorkdale meet, for those that want to take delivery there...

Final price: he gave me wholesale price of $168USD. Shipping was only $12.USD per set instead of the website $35.USD per set smile . He was late getting the shipping price to me, I had wanted to send him a money order from the US tonight. Since he was late, I ended up having to pay him paypal, but he was good enough that for this one time only he absorbed the 3.5% paypal fee!! Paypal is charging me $1.25 exchange rate, so $180.USD becomes $225. Customs duty I am not sure of yet, as I still don't know where they are made. I will find out when I cross the border next Friday, but I am hoping for no more than 6%. That would then be $238.50/set. I have to make something for my time and trouble, so I propose a sales price of $260.CDN per set, plus taxes, of course. Final total, with taxes, would be $299. picked up from me. If you need shipping to you, it would be extra, and if you want to pay by paypal or credit card, I need to add 3.5%, so your total picked up by credit card or paypal would be $309.47.

1. Rob Greer (will pay once you give final price)
2. Jay McLelland (has paid a deposit)
3. Gabriel Shim
4. Tony Thoppil (also wants clear corners)
5. Paul Bishop (will pay when picking up)
6. Nathan Mather (also wants clear corners)(will pay when picking up)
7. Mark Scheitzbach
8. Dean Boyle
9. Jeremy Chin
10. Jerry Rose
11. Adam Grenon
12.

PS. For those who wanted the clear corners, they are out of stock, and won't be in for a little while. He was not sure how long. Let me know if you still want me to order them in. I should hopefully get a price list of some sort with the shipment next week, and would be able to give final pricing on the clear corners then....

Well glad to see it is all coming together but as I suggested above there is no reason for Zig to take all the risk for the "I will pay when I see em..." guys. Its up to Ziggy but he is helping us out by doing the heavy lifting here so the least you can do is forward a deposit if not the full amount....if you bought them direct you would have to pay when you ordered so whats the difference confused

Are u ordering these head lights from x3 racing ? http://www.x3racing.com/product.asp?pid=HD-KS-ME92-C 1gb headlights doesnt fill me in is all . will u be able to get these after this buy ? and if so will it be in the same price range? sorry just wanted to make sure u could get them i was looking for a set too in a few weeks.

Re: 1gb headlights - January 24, 2005 01:53 pm UTC

Yes, those are the ones, and that is where I am ordering them from. I should be able to get more later, and I assume price will be similar. Before I order any more, I want to make sure no-one backs out, as I haven't made anyone pay up front, and I don't want to be stuck with a bunch of these. Right now, there are 10 sets on order, and 13 guys want them. Once the 10 sets are distsributed, I will contact whoever is left, and see if they want me to order more. At that point, I will probably require a deposit. Let me know or add yourself to the list!

Re: 1gb headlights - January 29, 2005 04:38 am UTC

Ok guys, a slight delay. The shipping is taking a little longer than I expected from California. I thought they would be there tonight, but they weren't there frown . I checked the tracking number, and they are arriving in Niagara Falls on Monday. Normally, I only go down there once a week to pick up. Is everyone ok with waiting another week? I would prefer not to have to make a special trip....If I get them next Friday night, that is still plenty of time for pickup at Yorkdale smile . Sound ok to everyone??

I agree. I've had many transactions with Ziggy and I've never had a problem from his end. A few from Slowboys side but Ziggy's always smoothed it.

Posted By: Ziggy Dietrich

Re: 1gb headlights - February 08, 2005 01:36 pm UTC

The first batch is gone, with the exception of two sets sitting in my hallway, but arrangements have been made by their owners to pick those up.

I will be ordering more, as soon as I know who wants them, and I will be ordering clear corners also. They were out of stock when the first order was placed. I was going to wait a little bit for some feedback on these, but perhaps we could start a list now. I would like to place the next order sooner rather than later, because I messed up and sold a set to someone who was lower than #10 on the list. Luckily, someone in the top 10 was understanding and willing to wait a little longer for theirs (thanks Jay!!)....

I will carry forward what we had from the first list, and those who still want lights or who want clear corners, please add yourself to the list. If anyone has changed their minds and no longer wants them, please remove yourself from the list:

1. Jay McLelland (lights)** has paid a deposit **
2. Tony Thoppil (clear corners)
3. Nathan Mather (clear corners)(will pay when picking up)
4. Adam Grenon(lights)
5. Matt Polese (clear corners)

Ok, I think everyone has had enough time to order. There are quite a few names on this list that I hardly recognize, or don't know well. I would like to get some sort of deposit from everyone before I place the next order!

I just now emailed X3 to ask if they have clear corners available yet, but I have already waited quite a while for them, I think I will order the lights whether the clear corners are available yet or not....

Can everyone please pm me or email to rtm@mountaincable.net with payment arrangements.

Thanks,
Ziggy

Re: 1gb headlights - March 28, 2005 12:17 pm UTC

A Review on these lights:

I got a set of these in the first round and here is my own personal opinion:

Pros
- dimensions are OEM so fit is good
- all oem parts except thumbwheels
- new lenses are very clear and much better than even a good polish job on old lenses
- come with bulbs so pretty much plug and play except for signal light which you pop out of old lens
- brightness is good and I can actually see again
- packaging was very good so shipping damage would be difficult to inflict

Cons
- the caps that seal the back of the light should have four tabs that lock the cap in when turned but 3 were missing on each of the caps. Zig thinks it is a manufacturing problem
- the gaskets on the back caps are a bit flimsy but if you take it easy on them they should serve the purpose
- the lens is clear but seems to be thinner than oem so durability remains to be seen. May not be an issue
- the levels on my lights werent installed properly so they arent useful for aiming lights. You have to use the flat ground and wall method.
- the thumbwheels for aiming the lights arent there but dial can be moved by hand or with a screwdriver
- the reflector seems ok but doubt it is of high end PIAA type design if that matters to you

Overall I am happy with them and none of the above has anything to do with Ziggy as the transaction went smoothly. I have yet to decide if I will use my old lights and just take off the lens for the brightness and clarity. Right now I have the new lights with the old locking caps and new gaskets. Low beams are aimed but havent had time to fiddle with high beams. Still the best option for the dollar.
