Feal Suspension

Feal Suspension - March 18, 2016 09:42 pm UTC

Alrighty,

My shocks are probably dead on the 2g, or getting there. Seeing as I want to enjoy it till I die, I need new, more sporty and better tech ones.

Best off the shelf brand is Feal Suspension, read up on it if you don't know about them (tuners has a good thread).

Wondering if anyone would be down in ordering some in a group buy possibly bring down the price on shipping as I doubt price for the shocks will change. That's their price on sale for tax season. Per StrictlyPerformance.parts up in Michigan, we'd be looking at 1300$ US per set. and around 100$ shipping per order (single order). They do 1g and 2g in case you're wondering.

What's your time frame? I still need to do some research but I may be interested.

Don't really have the money for it at the moment but I have been considering Feal as a more cost effective solution to the Super pricy Muellerized Ohlins.

Gui is there any recent feedback/reviews for 1gs? everything I can find is 2014 or before and it's for 2g.

Yeah, I'll need them before May so you have time but I believe that deal is only good till tax refund time. Can't say I've done much research on the 1g but I can definitely take a look and get back to you.

Re: Feal Suspension - March 19, 2016 04:04 pm UTC

Found this for now:

CEO/Owner Odi Bakchis, who is a Formula Drift driver and used to rally a 1G, knows a thing or two about a properly valved coilover, and we've been eager to offer his line of coilovers to the DSM market.

The CEO used to Rally his 1g, so he should know a thing or two about good rally 1g suspension which I believe is what both you and me like in the 1g suspension. Per their specs they seem to know the 1g platform better than the 2g as the spring rates they had for the 2g at the very beginning were a bit off. "http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/theyre-finally-here-quality-valved-coilovers-at-an-affordable-price-feal-coilovers.468105/"

Feel free to visit the website here: http://fealsuspensionstore.com/home/

These are available for ALL 1G's, 2G's, and Galant VR-4's.

Here is a list of standard features:

- One way adjustable, 30 click spectrum
- Monotube
- Japanese Swift springs
- Assembled in house, U.S.A.
- Rebuildable and revalvable in house, U.S.A.
- Independant height adjustment
- Teflon injected spherical bearing top mounts front and rear (Including 2G front suspension!)
- Aluminum top mounts
- Camber adjustable front top mounts (MacPherson applications)
- Slotted rear coilover mounting hole for camber adjustability (MacPherson applications)
- Corrosion resistant coating + Anodized aluminum parts
- High quality low friction seals and rod guide bushings
- High flow pistons (allows super high range of damping tuning)

The best part about these is that they can be made to your spec at no extra cost. You want them setup for autocross? No problem. Road course spec? Not an issue. You want to pick your own springs rates? You can do that too.

And here are the recommended spring rates for street DSM's:

1G FWD: 7kg/mm front, 6kg/mm rear

1G AWD: 7kg/mm front, 7kg/mm rear

Galant VR-4: 8kg/mm front, 7kg/mm rear

2G AWD: 10kg/mm front, 6kg/mm rear

The best part about these is that they can be made to your spec at no extra cost. You want them setup for autocross? No problem. Road course spec? Not an issue. You want to pick your own springs rates? You can do that too.

Can't find a load of info on these via reviews, so sent the Feal a request for info/pricing seeing as they designed it themselves. I'm sure they have more insight on what we're looking for. In the meantime, it could also be a good idea for people possibly interested in these later in the future to chyme in. As we could always see if RTMracing would be ok having a couple on hand locally for those without the money right away.

I've ridden in a 2g with their suspension setup. Seems fine.

If anyone is interested in the higher end setup... the 460 series I think with the external resevoir (What I am running on the front of my car) Peter at Hobbits(here in ontario) is actually the supplier for that stuff for feal.

Well RTM is still making border trips too so maybe they can help us there?

Mike is talking about my car here. I got them spring last year. Really can't complain about them. Seem to be well built and perfect for any DSMer. The only reason I could see going to the higher setup that Mike spoke of is if you were doing autocross every weekend.

Depending on timing and finalized price, I may be interested in a 2g set.

For now it's only 50$ off retail, so not worth it until I hear back from Feal themselves.

It was purchased from the facility where they hand make them to order, it's in Ontario, California.
