I do have more info, thanks bud!!!

Some of my good buddies are drifting at this event, however proceeds are going to Children's Mental Health Services. There will be a helicopter flying all of 50' above the ground getting video of the drifters and you can ride with a pro drifter around the track.

Responsible rides will be there supporting the event as well!

Definite maybe.
Haven't been home much last little while so I might try to drag the family down for a bit.
Perhaps a nice dinner out - at the track.

True story.

I'm hoping to be up and running by June. Parts should be in by Tuesday, as well as my tires. If all goes well, I should be back to a rolling car by Tuesday night.

Mine's running, and running well but with 2 businesses on the go, she's a bit difficult to get out there....

I'm hoping to be at the next one. I've got all the kinks ironed out and plan on doing a bit of tuning in the next week or so, to get that boost up.

Are you going Jay?
Posted By: Jay Stacey

Re: Shannanville 2013 - June 17, 2013 11:52 pm UTC

Id like to play with my timing some his week but the 2g should be good. The 1g is having shuggish issues Im working on since I installed the new ecu and chip. I think I may be looking for a cheap afc to lean it out a bit at take off.

But I have to decide to eather go racing on the 5th and go camping on august 10th. Or go camping on the 5th so I can get some racing in just before shoot out.

Its looking looking like 5th for racing.

havent had a chance to do any more pills since I last talked to you. I am around 10.9 at 6000rpms tho. at 18psi. My 1g is showing 139 low fuel trim but my mid and high fuel trims are 100% with. o2 at around 87 at wot.

Re: Shannanville 2013 - July 05, 2013 04:01 am UTC

2g is running awsome! 1g is bogging off from the launch. The burn chip is leaning out right off the get go. Wasnt doint it with the stock ecu in. Gonna swap the stocker back in tomorrow. Hopefully the 2g maf and bigger injectors will eliminate the boost cut. And sandra will beat her 17 from last year.

Re: Shannanville 2013 - July 05, 2013 02:32 pm UTC

Anyone have any goals for tonight?

I'd like a repeat of last year. 11.4 or better would be nice. Tonight will be a good shakedown night to see what all this new lost weight will net me.

Re: Shannanville 2013 - July 05, 2013 04:21 pm UTC

Goal: To avoid the rain and make it to the track.
If I achieve that goal, then I'm with Ryan: to meet/exceed last years best (hopefully at a lower boost level).
Very interested to see what this new billet wheel and cams do for me.

Re: Shannanville 2013 - July 05, 2013 04:59 pm UTC

I want to make it down the strip with out blowing up! And dont laugh... ive raced autos for many years.. and street racing aswell.. I can only imagine what ill do with a clutch and starting off a tree.

Then Ill sart setting goals. Sandra wants to beat her 17... mabe a 15.

Re: Shannanville 2013 - July 06, 2013 01:31 am UTC

Sure didn't.

First run I didn't stall up the car, just put my foot in it. Pass was a 13.8 on low boost/no timing.

Cranked everything up, wanted to give'r the onion. Car was beautifully tuned at 31psi, but couldn't come up on the converter due to it being a million degrees outside.

My last run, they aborted me. I was starting to come up on it, and as I was inching to the full stage lights, they flipped the switch and ran the tree.

Shannonville has a bunch of underqualified, off-the-streets asshats running the show. They get all of 2 minutes of "training" and are shown which button to push. I wish there was something close by that was run less as a hobby track and more as a professional track.

But it's all we got. I guess a bad night at the track is better than a good day at the office.

Still drove it home.
Posted By: Jay Stacey

Re: Shannanville 2013 - July 06, 2013 02:48 am UTC

Well i blew a clutch line in the staging lanes before I got to make my first run. poopy...Fixed it with a hose clamp and 6 zip ties... got to carfully drive it home but no racing for me.

Sandra ran a personal best of 16.7501! winning 2 out of 6 races! 14 counts of knock. it still needs some work. But shes loving it!

Re: Shannanville 2013 - July 06, 2013 03:22 am UTC

Hello all

Tonight was a pretty good turnout. Lots of cool cars and a good turn out for the DSMs.

I was really disappointed when they lit the Tree not allowing Ryan to stage. Boneheads. We would of have fun racing together.

As for myself I did pretty good. Ran 8 times and got a best of 12.1200 at 117.47 mph with a .6810 r/t and a 1.7699 60'. My last run was with Jamie Valcamp. I got him at the Tree and won by .0199 sec. My e/t for that run was 12.2289 at 118.10 mph, his was 11.9889 at 114.50 mph. He pulled hard in 3rd 4th; I was flipping of excitement. T'was quite the race.

I do not know when the next event is scheduled for but will do my best to attend.

Night night!!!

Re: Shannanville 2013 - July 11, 2013 03:57 am UTC

I guess i was the only one that had a good night shuffle

Took my first 5.0L mustang with the help of the new big 16g, then another, i also got an early 80's trans am/firebird, a genesis 2.0T and a couple honda kids.

two best runs were 14.3 @ 95 (running 9-10psi pig rich) better than my previous best with the 14b by .3 seconds on the same actuator. since then i've turned the boost up to 12psi and got my fuel maps straightened out... now that i can actually tune the ECU myself, i'm pretty confident she's a 13 second car...Giz, i don't forsee 12's in the near future so i'll need that sticker with a 13 on it...

Re: Shannanville 2013 - August 17, 2013 08:22 am UTC

My night sucked. The only good launch I got was the one with Paul, and my 2 step was too high and it pulled through the brakes. It all went to sh!t from there. On a no-launch pass I did a 12.4. My final pass something went wrong with the nitrous and as it was coming up on the converter, it was like the nitrous shut off.

I didn't get a clean pass all night.

sh!t part is, when you red-light the clock starts counting, and I held it though all 3 yellows, I tripped the red by the first yellow. By my log from the time my wheels started turning till I got out of it was an 11.08 second run.

We'll try it again some other time.

We look over and a Porche is burning to the ground! Just bought. 2 days ago too!

And that ended the evening.

Re: Shannanville 2013 - September 07, 2013 03:24 am UTC

I think Paul got some footage.
It was quite the bonfire. A solid 20 min of 20 foot flames with a few explosions and lots of black smoke.
Early end to the night but feel bad for the guy. Preventable or not, quite a tragedy for a nice car.

My night didn't go all that well. With only one run, I did get to learn that my clutch is slipping pretty bad. One good launch got me a 1.68 60 ft but then had to feather it out the rest of the run to avoid completely glazing the clutch. Ended with a 12.4 @ just 91 mph. Looks like the tranny is coming out in the next few days to be rectified. Got a few more events to see what she's capable of.

Word is he parked on the grass after sliding off. Hot exhaust and/or brakes ignited the dry grass.

I suspect insurance would be tempted to laugh. Unless he had racers insurance.

Ya... he spun out... and hit some tires. Then he got out of the car to see if he scratched it. Noticed the grass on fire under the car.. and ran away. The grass was dry and long.

I'm back on track. Loving the nitrous at the launch. A 50 shot gets me up to 4K in 3 seconds, it's great!

Kept it modest to dial in with 100% meth running 2 nozzles. At the end of the night, seems my alternator is getting tired, and only pushing about 13.0V with everything on, making everything inconsistent. I clicked off a 12.4 running 29psi. Drove it home.

Ok.. Letme try... Is it an open obnoxious exhaust? like on your white car? or does it have a chamber muffler with some effort of quietness.

I have a 3" for sandras 1g with a magnaflow muffler on it. But she dosent want the car to be as loud as mine . So the stock exhaust remains.

Don't assume Alex, when I went to a three inch exhaust from the stock exhaust with after market muffler it was quieter at idle. Sure when I opened it up it got louder.

Just got my alternator back today, seems I had spit some axle grease into the alternator and over time it killed it. Fresh rebuild, she's putting out 14V at idle. I'm happy with it. Let's see if it makes a difference.

Oh common... I still see seat belts... Speakers... Lots of extra sheet metal that can be cut away.why leave the center consol.... Take the glove box door out... Front speakers. air bags are a pound or so.

Re: Shannanville 2013 - October 04, 2013 09:14 pm UTC

Come on now guys! Not quite at the "because race car" stage..... yet.
These were just a few easy pickings that took about 20-30 min in hopes of some small improvement.
Looking to end the year with a time at least as fast as last year. I'm not keen on putting time and money only to be slower.

Sweet vids Jay!

Didn't look too busy, eh?!

What was your time for the last vid?

They allow passengers, too?

I really like the mini track after the 1/4 smile

Re: Shannanville 2013 - October 05, 2013 11:33 pm UTC

I believe it was a 13.2.. That wass Sandra filming.. I dont know if they like me driving back like that. But ya... its cool! problem is it makes the car really hot to finish the 1/4 and keep racing back to the pits.

I also took my 13 year old. He was in the car when the clip holding the new shift cable fell off and I was stuck in 3rd.

There was no waiting what so ever.. And the track was prepped nicely

Re: Shannanville 2013 - October 06, 2013 02:31 am UTC

Jamie, what was your best time/mph?
Posted By: Jamie Valcamp

Re: Shannanville 2013 - October 06, 2013 02:46 am UTC

I started the day out with a 12.8 @ 128 mph with a rolling 2.6 60' start. Ended up at 11.06 @ 132 mph. My PB by over 0.5 seconds.
There was more in it but the rear exhaust clamp was too stretched to keep it together for a clean pass with the boost raised.
Makes a big difference when the clutch isn't slipping all the way down the track.

yeah man...and you even left hatch on...you know that means you need to run a 9 next year tongue j/k, but if the car is nice to you next year, you should be able to get one of them trophies at the shootout...
