Depending on how next week goes, I'd like to go down there and show my friends brother who just bought a new mustang what a fast car is like.

How many people usually show up on a day like that?

Re: Shannonville 2014 - April 19, 2014 03:07 pm UTC

Well there is about 10 of us dsms.. But i only think a few of us are running at the moment... But there could be lots of other cars... Including slow ass mustangs!! The stageing lanes are usually full of dsms... Hondas... Mustangs.. And full out blown v8 drag cars!! slmetimes even a viper and a few porchas... Altho the porchas seem to light up the track!

Even a few bikes and skidoos show up and race!

Re: Shannonville 2014 - April 19, 2014 03:09 pm UTC

And just to thro it in there... I have a flat bed trailer if someone neede to be towed back home.. Plus If I like you.. I could possably provide somewhere to crash!... Sleep that is.lol

after we got the transmission back in, the car had a bad wheel bearing, Lisa was nice enough to let me use the press while Giz was at the north pole visiting Santa Clause. she's back together now, makes all sorts of irritating noises, tracked down the major ones and seems mechanically sound, I'm down to a squeak and a click, which I'm pretty sure are benign. Also gotmy summer shoes on now too tu

And unlike Cayuga, they let the cars play with the bikes and sleds! Todd had a nice race with a sled years ago at S-ville

I donno... How many tracks can you drag race and track race the same day... Take passengers... And drink beer!

Sure .. Most other track feel better under my rubber... But this one is definalty fun!
Posted By: Salomon Ponte

Re: Shannonville 2014 - April 19, 2014 07:49 pm UTC

You can't take passengers on the drag strip at Shannonville, actually, and it's one of the things I don't like, besides the awful track surface(s).

It does make for a fun night though smile

Re: Shannonville 2014 - April 19, 2014 07:53 pm UTC

Ya.. You can take passengers on mix n match nights... I took my kid several times on the last day last year. You cant take them on test n tunes... Cause they are run by the lucksville turnimant.

Re: Shannonville 2014 - April 19, 2014 09:27 pm UTC

I'd have gone to cayuga instead, but don't feel like cutting a hole for the battery kill switch for the relocated battery just yet, if ever. I hear they are very relaxed about such rules.
Posted By: Jay Stacey

Re: Shannonville 2014 - April 19, 2014 09:59 pm UTC

Very relaxed!! we dont even need helmets.. But i do. My mom said I had to.

Altho i raced at Summet motorsport during shoot out with a rear mounted battery and no kill switch.

Probably won't make it out for a while, if at all this year. Just bought a new car and it's hard to convince the wife to let me throw my Talon back on the road.

But we'll see. If I do make it out this year it's with a SMIM, new aluminum exhaust and a properly working nitrous launch.

Let me guess, waste gate port broke off?
Posted By: Jay Stacey

Re: Shannonville 2014 - May 05, 2014 08:31 pm UTC

No... the downpipe...pipe.... Its still half welded... But its filling my engjne bay with sut. If i keep the 20g, then ill prolly run an internal gate till i can afford a cast mani with a 38mm gate. Bt if I run the Holset... Then i have to play with a tubular manifild. And I aready have a cracked dsm tubular header thats no good!

FP manifold + bolt on Holset + PR stainess o2 housing w/wastegate was my setup and I loved it.

Post some results.

Re: Shannonville 2014 - May 24, 2014 03:10 am UTC

14.5 was my best...between boost dropping off to about 8psi, and poor track conditions...

2.4 60ft, spinning tires in 3rd...I can usually do a 2.1 on the dunlops, and I normally have moderate traction going into 2nd, tonight 2nd gear was not useful at all.

will 12-14psi push open a 1g uncrushed BOV?

new-ish tranny lived to spin through 3 gears another day!
Posted By: Stephan Tanchak

Re: Shannonville 2014 - May 24, 2014 04:12 am UTC

Mine didn't. Plus, stock boost is 12psi already.

It's the 2g bov's that suck.
Posted By: Jay Stacey

Re: Shannonville 2014 - May 24, 2014 09:49 am UTC

My uncrushed held 25psi.
Posted By: Paul Sitarski

Re: Shannonville 2014 - May 24, 2014 11:18 am UTC

After about 12 passes i was only able to get 11.6/136.5 with a 1.93 60foot, i got 3 136mph at 34psi. Just could not hook up spinning all 4 in 3rd. got my best 1/8 mile 106mph.

Same for you Garrett.

Re: Shannonville 2014 - May 24, 2014 01:04 pm UTC

ok so, I'm leaking boost some how...or my wastegate is getting stuck open (my actuator is not OEM)

anyway, traction, or lack there of, was the major player...

If you kept last year's setup, and added slicks you'd be running much quicker! FWIW around 10years ago I was 104mph thru the 1/8th with an old school FP Red and 30psi. Work on the tune some more, I'm sure there's plenty of the power left on the table even with less boost.

I'm going to be at shannonville next Monday...but for a lapping session! Straights are for loosers, real men need steering wheels.

If anyone wants a ride stop by! (this assumes my car makes it there and through the sunday autocross...so no guarantees:)

Re: Shannonville 2014 - June 14, 2014 02:33 am UTC

So Jamie Valcamp and I ran tonite! would have been nice to see some more DSMs!!!

First couple runs for me were smooth but I was only running 23psi so I kept running consistant 13s. Tried raising the boost but one turn on the MbC put me at 30psi and my Blitz BOV wouldnt hold it. Lowered it to 26psi... And It ran awsome... But created a boost leak. By the time we found the leak, it started raining. Untill next week!

Well I went yesterday. Did 5 passes and finally got in the 13's with a 13.8 & 13.9 lol Not bad for a car with just a Exhaust and more boost!! Plus I think my tiny 14B is on it's way out or the housing is cracked it's original with 185K miles!! Spool time is way down.

Then after that I just killed it on the Nelson track for the rest of the night cool

I like the cardboard on the floor Corte; classy!!!

Just came back home. Pretty good turn out. Started by doing a few Laps. Car ran pretty good and the old Dunlop still got some life out of them. Plan for me is to wear these bald!!!

Migrated into the 1320 area and did 6 Laps. Nothing to brag about as I cold not get the thing to Launch properly. Dialed in 5750rpm and the bloody thing would still bog. New Red does not like to build boost that quick and the SB Clutch does bite quite hard. Shot some flames at the back of the tail pipe after I engaged AntiLag; that function is pretty cool. Will play with Cam Timing and will increase Launch RPM; should do the trick.

Car ran quite well and pulled like a Freight Train once the stupid Boost decided to kick in.

'Morrow is an other day...

Re: Shannonville 2014 - August 02, 2014 03:16 am UTC

It looked fast on the track Ghiz!!

Awsome turn out!

Track sucked! Everyone was complaining.

Did a lap on the road course just to see what the fuk it was all about. Tires stuck well around the corners.. car heated up fast tho.. gonna try a colder thermostat.

First 1/4mile run, I sat 2steppin way too long waiting for the stupid tree to go.. flooded a bit and bogged out my launch.

By the end of the night I ran a 13.0.. That was 23psi.. stock 2g timing map and heavy rims...so I got some timing to bump.. And Gonna maybe have some Potenzas on my light rims for Ohio!

I got some vids.. post them tomorow

Guys , you wanna get together on some back road and do some group tuning before shoot out??
Posted By: Jamie Valcamp

Re: Shannonville 2014 - August 02, 2014 03:17 am UTC

Very crowded night Probably the longest lineups I've seen in a few years.
I only managed a couple of passes after turning some corners. Would have done more but I blew a fitting during the first pass. It still seemed to run OK but decided to play it safe and not try to push it.
Still managed an 11.5 @ 124 with severe pre-turbo exhaust leak. The track prep was better than last time. A few more clean passes with proper boost and .........

Good to see a healthy Club turnout again.

Looks like fun. Wish I could have joined you boys but I'll have to wait until the post-shootout Mix & Match/Test & Tune. Maybe I'll make a trip out East next weekend to check out the goods before the Shootout!

Thank Sandra for taking them

She drove the mobile tool box, and her and my son sat and took the vids. She wasnt there 5 minutes before I got the TXT "Can we go back and get my car?" But there would have been no time.

Its video from her new Samsung s4.. the daylight was "OK", but the night vids suck.. I actually expected more from this phone.. maybe its not set up right?

Jay you will never be happy with low light performance on a phone, the lense is far too small.
