stumble or Fuel cut at 17psi and 4250rpm - May 22, 2001 03:51 am UTC

i have 98 talon tsi. Recently, i get fuel cut
at 17 psi/4250rpm after add a octane booster
(104 octane booster)
i have HKS Power Flow/ic pipe/HRC o2 Housing/
3 inch Downpipe/Convertor/HKS Drager Exhaust/
MSD ignition/Plug Wire/Iridium Plugs/HKS EVC/
Boost Gauge/HKS S-AFC set 8%3000rpm/15%3500/
20%4000-7000rpm/ ETG 1450f @ 140km/4500rpm
reading at downpipe.
How to solve the stumble or Fuel cut?

Hey Ultraman, use a real name.
Anyway, what gear are you in when this happens? And have you done the fuel pump rewire yet? I'm running a 14B on my 2G and with the rewire I'd nail fuel cut at 5400rpm in third at 15psi. Also with the T-25 17psi is hair-dryer mode so you should turn the boost down a bit, your knock sums are probably pretty high. Start with turning down the boost (try 15psi) and doing the fuel pump rewire. If it happens in every gear though, fuel cut isn't your problem

There's a ton of FAQs and stuff at www.vfaq.com check 'em out. There is one in there for doing the fuel pump re-wire

------------------
95 Talon Tsi AWD
14.6@95MPH
Injen Intake, 3'' HRC Eliminator downpipe
3'' Thermal catback, Apexi boost gauge,
Walbro 255 lph HP,ported 14B turbo,
ported exhaust manifold, clutch restrictors removed
STBs, lower rear tie bar

Upgrade your fuel pump first. 17 psi on the stock fuel pump and stock pressure is a bit low. BTW, how are you controlling boost?

EGTs at the top of 3rd gear should be a max of about 1600F (850C).
