BOV.. to Vent, or not to Vent. - June 29, 2004 12:24 am UTC

Hey guys. I got a 91 tsi awd, while trying to find a missfire i rerouted the intake for bov recirculated, i also have a modified intake that will be vent to atmosphere.

My question is; HOW BAD IS VENT TO ATMOSPHERE?? i have stock MAF and a slightly hacked MAF(lower honeycomb out), stock bov or my GReedy typeS (SO LOUD!! *giggels) laugh

I would like to vent to atmosphere but am afraid of washing down rings with fuel!! i dont' wnat to yank out my engine agian, annoy , but i love the sound.

Thanks very much

Actually, it would make you run RICH
The ecu is calculating for that air that is being released out of the bov and back into the intake. When the venting to the atmosphere the car doesnt know that the air has not gone into the intake and still provides the gas needed the air it expects.

I do agree though with venting with the GM Maf. It allows u to vent, problem free.
