Just wondering what the smallest size wheel is that fits on a 98 AWD. I heard 16" due to front calipers and rotors but I just wanted to check with everybody here.

I believe 15" rims will fit 2Gs.
My winter wheels are 15", haven't had a problem yet.

Hopefully someone can confirm this, but I was under the impression 97-98 AWDs have bigger brakes (than 95-96) up front. If so, don't think 15's would fit.

Ok so NOBODY knows for sure whether or not 15" wheels fit on a 98 tsi awd?

Most 15" wheels will not fit on 98 TSI AWD.
You need to get at least 16" rims.
I believe 98's brake calipers is a little bit bigger than a 97 model. You should always double check with local tire shops. Or, try to drop an e-mail to Talontire(info@talontire.com), I think they will be happy to answer your questions.
