rear camber washers awd 2g

Hey guys few time ago i bought the rear bolts for the rear camber for spike, so few months after i bust my tires i will be putting it in tomorrow just dont know how many would be enough.

has anyone done this before?
I have 18" rims and the drop is 1.7 all around, tires are 245 45 18.

I'm using 3 washers on each bolt, with 1.4inch drop..

Did you fully got rid of the bad camber?

I thought you were turning the car into a road racer? If so, you don't want to remove any of the negative camber.

What you want to do is fix the rear toe which is thrown out when you lowered the car, and probably causing your tire wear.

My car is with in OEM spec.

Is the washer/bolt kit that Ziggy sells only for 2g AWD? or FWD's as well?

I'd have to disagree with that statement. Any sizable drop will result in too much negative camber in the rear. Due to the suspension geometry of a 2G, the rear gains more negative camber than the front. So to maintain any kind of balance, you'll need to dial out some of that rear negative camber with spacers. I typically run 0.75º to 1º less negative camber in the rear relative to the front to achieve good balance. YMMV

oh man, all this alingment, caster,toe, camber,geometry, is more complicated than i spect it, not to mention that i hate reading.

get ri of neg camber, so maybe if i use 2 washer i should be alright?

And if put three, when i take the car to get an spec aligment can they fix if went over?

I am so sorry for my ignorance in this theme but can we do our own aligments? at home?

You can do your own alignment at home, but it will take a lot of reading

Like Scott said, even for autoxing with that size of drop you would have to much neg camber in the rear. I haven't done alot of research but -.75 to -1 deg in the rear seems to be what alot of autoxers like & this is with fairly agressive negative front camber.

My car is probably a 1.7" drop & I believe I'm around 4 washers. I believe my rear camber is around -.75 but would have to check my alignment sheet to know for sure.

I've never heard of a road racing setup with so little negative camber (-0.75 to -1). Those are basically the stock specifications. I'm not saying you guys aren't right, it's just surprising to me. I run more negative camber than that on the street.

So in other words, if I'm running -3º camber in the front, I'd set the rear at -2.25º. (i.e. 3 subtract 0.75 equals 2.25)

Or if I were to run -2º in the front, I'd set the rear to -1.25º

You want a little less static negative camber in the rear, because the rear gains negative camber in compression at a higher rate than the front (due to the suspension geometry).

So in other words, if you start with a static camber of -3º front / -2.25º rear, as your suspension compresses in a hard turn, the two different camber rates will converge into equal values, giving you a balanced car.

Bertrand Tire and Alignment near Kennedy & Ellesmere. They'll adjust everything, i.e. camber, toe, to whatever you want it to be.
