Sunroof ID and Repair

Sunroof ID and Repair - August 01, 2017 09:50 pm UTC

Hey Guys,

I've finally decided to tackle my sunroof which hasn't worked properly for a few seasons. The roof will tilt up but when it goes to slide back I hear what sounds like a plastic gear grinding / slipping and it wont move any further, I've checked the tracks and they appear to be clear.

The problem is I'm not sure if this is the stock unit, could someone please verify for me that it is or isn't from the pictures below? If it's not stock should I be able to replace this unit with a stock sunroof without issue?

Thanks for the help!

Hey Chris. Aftermarket unit by original owner. I believe there was a receipt of it as well.

Also my guess is you won't be able to replace it with a stock one. Its all custom done because the car didn't have sunroof from factory.

Thanks Deep, I'll take a look through the service records and see if I can find the receipt. Maybe I can order replacement parts through whoever did the install.
