If you care about the environment more, get a high flow cat, if you care about performance more, get a test pipe. smile

A high flow cat will probably be sufficient for a non-turbo application, but test pipes are cheaper.

Thanks,
Could you recommend some place (places) to get these items at a reasonable price?

Your local exhaust/muffler shop can make one in about 20 minutes. It's just a pipe with a flange on each side.

Do you think that's the best way to go? Any idea what they usually charge for something like that?

I have a high flow cat on my car. It is a stainless one built for High performance V8 with a min of 400 HP.
I went with a cat so it was still legal (pass e test) , and gave me the same or close performance of a test pipe.
It was built by a local custom exhaust builder cost was around $80

My full mertic 2" (almost 2 1/4) mandrel bent stainless system cost $400 for the flex pipe, 3" high flow cat, 3" glass pack resonator, all the piping and a 3" tip (no muffler)all stainless welds, and full 10 year warranty/guaranty

I just got my cat takin off the other day and i would say go with the test pipe!!! it pops alot and is really loud but you will notice WAY more pickup at higher rpm in an n/t its definatly cheaper and better to go without one but then again its legal is sask freak
