my transmission grinds when i put it into first from a stop. its fine if im downshifting,or rolling and put it into first...but not from neutral at stop. its also fine if i put it into second before first...anyone have any tips?? maybe the forks???

just take the carpet out of the way.
let the clutch seat to the END.
adjust it a bit and you WILL be fine

I had the same problem, later found out I had crankwalk, Tell your mechanic to inspect the play.

ive got a 1G, i thought crankwalk wasn't an issue....and second how would that cause my transimission to grind?

Just cause your car looks different then a 2G, doesn't mean you don't crankwalk. If you have a 7bolt crank, then you are just as likely to recieve crankwalk. (April 92-99)

ive got a 6 bolt. i dont think its crankwalk. i think its just the cables or forks. i also am suspicious that my clutch isnt disengaging compelty
