hey guys!.... man i havent posted here in a while.. its nice to see some 2gnts out and about in my area. saw a black rs de-badged and a white lowered rs too...
anyhoo... got a few questions for eveyone. i need to find a place that'll make my downpipe for my turbo project. a friend of mine suggested DL motorsports in burlington, but he wants crazy amounts of money, something like 700$$ bux.. does anyone know a better place in the area, or even in the gta?
thanks much!!

Don't let the conveinance of locality keep you from going a little further and getting a much better piece and probably a better price.
This area is a little limited for good shops.

the guys at northern motorsports used to work for team mitsubishi in the states and they came here. they are the best around without a doubt. this is in hamilton of course, nate you're in oakville and there aint jack out that way unless you go to toronto.

i have a t04b turbo, fmic, walbro pump(installed already) sfmu(installed already) oil press and boost gauge (installed already) tial 35 ex.gate , turbo xs bov, and a hks super afr for minor tuning. how does you turbo fit? mine just barely fits but i think im gonna have to get a flex-a-lite slim fan as the stock one sits too close to the turbo. also, im probably gonna get a boost controller just so i can up my boost a pound or so. tial is good for 8 psi w/ spring but i know i will lose a pound or two after the ic.

Way to go Dave, get some more pics/vids up
I gotta meet up with you soon to get a ride in it. I should have my car back on tues/weds this week so after I finish breaking in the engine and new tranny i'll be startin my install
I may have to give you a shout for some assistance now that you are a pro.
Yeah for sure. Just waiting for my gauge pod to come in so I can install my gauges. And also have to modify the piping I got as it doesn't have enough clearance to put the bumper on. Or cut the bumper which I don't want to do. Once eveything is done I will post the installation pics and maybe a vid. Sean I will give you a shout once evertyhing is done so you can check it out. If you need help installing you kit let me know. It will probably be easier to install the kit on your car since your motor is freshly rebuilt your nuts and bolts aren't probably rusted to sh*t like mine were.

ok guys!!!
so i took ryans advice and went to northern performance this morning... and well, now im really having second thoughts..
first off, the mechanic there told me he could make my downpipe.. ok cool, so go make it then.... sure enough, what does he do? he took my stock dp which is only 2" and he hacked it so that my 2.5" coming out of the turbo is going to fit on the stock 2" dp!!... hmmm... great! and this happened after i told him to make a completely new dp since i was gonna drive the car later on today... so with that said and done, i just told him to put the rest of my stuff on cause my dp has been hacked and i wouldnt be able to drive it stock anymore.
im just starting to second guess these guys cause after that incident, i just dont know how well and capable these guys are at finishing off my turbo kit. i mean, from what i gathered from the head mechanic was that they basically install pre-fab kits and dont usually deal with custom stuff... im just hoping everything is gonna work out, they say my car will be ready by tomorrow afternoon. and now, i gotta be patient and hope they dont blow my **** up!!!!
we'll see by tomorrow!

oh and by the way.... my turbo doesnt even fit...!!! i had to give him my slim fan so the exhaust side doesnt burn it!!! damndamndamn!!!!! heat soak and turbo lag , here i come!!!!
Good luck hope everything turns out well.
I finished installing my kit last week and so far everything seems to be running ok. Will post pics of the install later tonight.

Re: 2gnt represent! - April 04, 2005 08:13 pm UTC
how well does you setup run? im guessing your on stock internals... oh, did you use a missing link? how are you a/f ratios? are you running rich at all?
i seriously hope i dont run lean! what are you boosting at?
Everything seems to be working fine so far. I'm still using stock internals and stock injectors. No I'm not using a missing link or black box 95's don't need it. a/f is good, goes rich when I floor it. I was told the wastegate is set a 7psi but I'm only getting 3-4psi on the gauge. So I'm going to install a boost controller to bring it to 7psi.

Re: 2gnt represent! - April 05, 2005 07:47 am UTC
doesnt those delta gates usually come with a 5 psi spring? hmm... i wonder where my boost will be at. 8 psi spring in a tial, do you think you lost psi with your ic pipes? and how does your ecu fire rich when you floor it? your not running anything to control fuel are you?
Nope I don't have anything to controll my fuel. For my fuel system I've only upgraded my fuel pump to walbro 255lph and a FMU 12:1.
