what part is this? - August 26, 2005 04:02 pm UTC

95 esi

There is a part that lives in front of the starter, it is circular and has a flange. On the right it is connected to a hose, on the left it is connected to a metal pipe that disappears under the car. What is this part?

thanks,

Jacob

Does the flange bolt to the intake manifold?
My guess would be it is the EGR.
Could you follow that metal pipe to the exhaust manifold?

No, the EGR mounts perpendicular to this part (I think). I thought it was the EGR and ordered a new one, but when I got it, it was wrong. This part hangs in space directly in front of the starter and is only attached by a hose and a pipe. And it's made of metal.

Strange..

The Chrysler dealership will have diagrams on their computers.
Maybe you should ask to see them and point out the part for identification.

your best bet would be getting a haynes or chilton. they come in handy regardless. i'm not sure but i assume that the 95-99 neon manual will probably focus more on that engine than the 95-99 talon/eclipse manual will.

Not true the Neon motor isn't really the same as the 2G N/T Motor... the Avenger or Sebring would more. The 420a N/T motor is a Neon motor touched by Mitsu tongue So they changed it around. Same blocks different heads, and the components are different.
