390cc injectors in a nt - November 11, 2006 11:38 pm UTC
i just want to know if anyone on the board has ever played around with putting the turbo auto injectors in a nt.

Yup. Killed it's performance.
Unless you have some way of controlling fuel and tuning it, the car will run rich at all times.

Has anyone ever played around with putting a few resistors in, a better fuel pump and an afpr. Then played around with advancing and retarding the timing.

Ghislain and I played around with it when we had N/T's got to the point where we advanced the stock timing to about 10*, but the car had to run 94 octane to keep the knock away.
Sometims it was a little scary as the N/T motors don't have any electronic's to protect them from tuning mistakes.
Cars did respond well to intake/exhaust mods, both of us opened up the aircan's Ghislain did a full exhaust with headers, I added the famous $30 Dynomax catback.

Adding the Injectors+Resistors, Fuel Pump and AFPR will not yeild and better results. These "mods" are supporting mods. You first need to introduce more air and support this added air with your above mentionned mods.
Now how to you add more air to a NT without adding force induction??? Answer: increasing VE.
Advancing the Base Timing to 10* does not require to add Fuel but a good doze of octane, otherwize you'll hear it.
Ghislain.

Some guys have done this successfully with 390cc + a resistor pack + a Vortech S-FMU.. The S-FMU allows you to tune idle fuel pressure as well as have a rising rate fuel pressure in relationship to the amount of boost..

How about a 1g turbo maf with the 390s? Or an eprom tuned for the 390's
Can the N/T motor realistically benefit from more fuel without going overboard?
