It was well overdue time to replace the Subaru, it still goes but it's shedding weight day by day in the form of chunks of the body lol.

Picked up this 2006 S60 2.5T AWD on Sunday, damn thing is in near mint condition. My first Volvo and damn it's quite the step up from a Subaru lol.

Defiantly nice choice! Volvo's are high class & drive very smooth. I can only imagine what it feels like after driving DSM with no balance shafts and solid mounts tongue

It's whole different game!

S60, punch the gas at any point, smooth rise in power and don't even feel the gear changes and it does pull very nice for a heavy car.

DSM, punch it at 3k in 3rd, nothing, nothing, #$%#$#%$%3 HOLD THE F ON, shift, SMASH HEAD on head rest, HOLD THE F ON, let off, recover from whip lash.

something like that.

I was actually looking at Volvos not long ago. They are definitely smooth. I feel old driving one though tongue Guess it's the interior that has to do with that one. Saab is guilty of that too. New Volvos have stepped up the interior a bit.

I am old, so that doesn't really matter lol.

Haha I am with Gui, I also felt it was too big, I prefer the more agile vehicles.

Looks clean.

I rock a 05 T5 S40
Thing has been pretty good to me.

I think the S60's are a little more refined and hold their value a bit more.

Nice choice.

Nice! How is the long term reliability of these? I looked at one to replace the wifes daily and really liked it.

Re: New Daily - February 24, 2016 05:32 pm UTC

From my research they score pretty high on most reviews in terms of reliability. I got this for dirt cheap, 267000km on it, everything is tight, everything works and the body is in great shape. For the price I paid if it lasts a year or 2, I'm still way ahead.

I've put about 1200km on it so far, loving it. Great ride and comfort and ample power.

Pretty high standard of power when you say "ample" lol

Spoken like a true DSM'r

Re: New Daily - February 24, 2016 06:45 pm UTC

When you're used to a 500hp dsm it is barely "ample" tongue

208hp 236tq in a 5 speed auto so it does get up and go decently in the low end but over 100km/h it gets kinda meh. Not really the reason bought it though, what it does beautifully is highway cruising, lock it in at 120k and go, never needs to down shift, smooth and comfortable ride.
