Evo X seats in a 2g

Evo X seats in a 2g - April 25, 2017 03:02 pm UTC

Has it ever been done? Could it fit? I know the 2g bottom floor area is not the easiest to work with when it comes to custom seat ideas.

Also have SRT4s to try....only seen those installed on a 1g though and with quite a lot of fabbing involved.

If anyone has seen a "how to" on these let me know.

Thanks

Although I have aftermarket branded seats, wouldn't mind having the OEM piece of mind for the 2g seeing as she gets stopped a lot for checks. May be the big racing stripe...but I'll have to take care of that when I can afford to repaint the whole thing.

I wouldn't use your 1g example as a gauge on how difficult this will be. 2g should be a fair bit easier, they did some funky stuff to make the 1g seats work.

I've seen them in a 2g, it's a fair amount of work to get the 8/9 seats in so I would assume the X would be similar.

There are pre-made brackets for the 8/9 recaros as well, maybe they exist for the X.

I know Scat makes seat adapter brackets for the 2g for their seats, not sure what it would take to adapt other seats to those brackets.

I have never attempted to put x seats in a dsm, but I have heard(and believe to be true) that since they are quite high there isn't a lot of clearance to the 2g ceiling, I would think that the seating position would probably be quite low(???). I'm also guessing you know that getting into the back seat area may be a pita with them.

My evo8 seats fit very well in my 2g spyder. They actually fit slightly better than the bride seats I had before.

Big plus on the evo recaros... You can fit comfortably in them, unlike my brides.

Custom brackets were used for the recaros. I used premade 2g specific sparco brackets for the brides. If you can still find the sparco brackets they probably could be modded to fit the 10 seats.

Perhaps. The previous owner installed these seats so I'm %100 unsure what brackets were used.

Cool beans! Sorry for the late reply, was out of town for work. I do have Corbeau brackets from a plan I might still do but may do the evo swap seeing as they have heating in them. If it's doable as you fine gentlemen say, it's worth a try. I'll let you know how the head room goes for anyone interested later on.

I have Wedge brackets for my aftermarket seats & IMO they were a complete waste of money. First set I got wouldn't even bolt into the car fitment was so bad. I had a modified second set made & they still required additional modding when I got them to get the to fit. If your able to do any sort of metal fab/bending/welding you'd be far better off just making them yourself.
