I have started a java based chat room for Club DSM Canada. Its java based which means you only need a browser, not a chat program. the url is here for now http://anexa.com/dsmcanada

please sign up and goto the public chat area and check for users when you log into club dsm Canada to check the ubb. It may be useful for instant tech info if it stays popular

Bahhhh! I tried about five nicknames, and they're all taken! This is gonna take some real imagination...

Just a suggestion... since its gonna be hard to catch people in the chat room's maybee have a set time when people can meet maybee?
Like maybee make it say 8pm meeting every other day or twice a week or something like that, so people would know that there is a chance to catch someone in the chat room.

also i think using real names would make things alot easier too. I mean people in here knows everyone by their real name,and if everyone makes nick names in chat than everyone will be clueless on who is entering the room and would have to ask who u are talking to and than remember the nick name and put it to the real name.

Ok, we have beta tested it and its a little slow, but works well fo the most part. The site has been uploaded to ca.dsm by our handy dandy Andy

please try it out nightly from 8pm-10pm or so.

If its not popping flames, crank it up!

What I have noticed with this server, some names are password protected. It seems to be on the entire server, not just our little window. So I would say login with your full name. Try mark_ppg or something like that. I don't think the nicks are that important unless we start getting some nasty folks or something I do think that the full name or identifiable nick would be best

Steve, we had some guys with fast connections complain about slowness...I don't know why though. I am running win 98/IE4 and have found no problems.

Can anyone with any insight, please explain, or offer an explanation?

I'm using explorer3 mind you. I don't have enough space on my puter to upgrade.

once u log in it should take u straight in the room, there is only one!

If upgrade internet explorer it will automaticaly delete internet explorer 3 so u will have room for the new one.
