Ryan and I are trying to find someone that knows the back road route well enough so that we can have the trip from where ever to cayuga be a nice one. This will be where all of us will meet before heading to cayuga.

If we're meeting in Brantford and cruising from there, us Brantford boys know the way

I think helmets are required for 10 sec and under.

I thought roll cages was for 11 under, I assumed that was meaning helmet too. Do we know if track is open for test and tune?

I believe helmets are always required at any Cayuga event.

so you guys are going from Mississauga to Brantford? That is almost 40 mins west of Cayuga Maybe we meet somewhere in the middle like Burlington or Ancaster.

What you guys need to figure out is a route through the niagra escarpment. I know some amazing roads out here similar to the forks of the credit. Lower baseline road from Mississauga to oakville is nice. There have to be some really great roads through there. I went on a cruise one day up through rattle snake point but i dont remember the route

We need to figure out time lines for meeting spots.

Our second meeting spot after mississauga will be 975 Plains Rd E. I am looking at google maps and I can see an ikea just past the parking lot. This is right off the highway for us coming from the GTA with a big parking lot so that will be good and is right before the start of the ring.

Isnt that south of the ring? If you get off at Brant street there is a costco right there. Although i think i might be busy unless we meet early. What time are you planning to meet? Track opens at 11?

it is just south of the ring, but there is no exit on king rd which is where the ring starts

I don't think they have lapping on test and tune days. I was hoping to do some lapping though, I might do the quarter once or twice, don't plan on launching though.

I'll be coming from Niagara and wouldn't mind catching up with the group to cruise to Cayuga.

Not sure if anyone from these parts will be heading out, so I might be flying solo.

I will probably be going also, but not planning on joining the "cruise", just meet at the track....

Alrighty, so I thought up of 2 places we can meet in Brantford. The reason I picked these 2 locations, is they're both on the westside of the city, meaning they're both in the direction we have to go. Both are close to the city limits, reducing the amount of BS lights and idiot Sunday drivers to deal with that could potentially split the group into pieces like it did during the '09 Invasion.

Now, on to the locations:

1.D'Aubigny Creek Park. This is a small industrial as well as residential place, which has a few soccer fields, as well as a few baseball fields. This is usually where the city's Canada Day fireworks and celebrations are held, so there should be more than enough room for everybody. There is a Sobey's nearby, as well as a Timmies and whatnot 2 minutes away.

To get here without getting lost through the city is easy, take the 403 to Rest Acres Road. Turn South on to Rest Acres (towards Brantford/Simcoe) then turn East (left) on Colborne Street and follow that virtually to the place. From the highway, it should take about 10-15 minutes. Or you can go through the city, if you take the Wayne Gretzky exit from the 403, then turn South and drive to Colborne again, turn West (right) and follow that through our sorry-ass downtown until you eventually go through about 15 lights and make it there.

2.Brantford & District Civic Center. It's on Market Street, right next to the Brantford Casino. There is a bit of area around there too, including a new plaza that was built with a bunch of parking. Here we have a Timmies, a Wendy's, a supermarket (FreshCo maybe?), LCBO, Little Ceasar's, etc. It's also relatively easy to get to, it's about a 3-5 minute drive from the first location I posted.



Now those are 2 locations I think would be good for us, again, taking into consideration a quick getaway route towards Cayuga. The backroads to Cayuga through the Reserve and out should be smooth sailing. If anybody has any better ideas, feel free to add. As for everybody else, pick where you guys would like to meet, or I can make the choice

So you guys coming from the west side can meet up in Brantford as well as anyone else that doesn't want to join the other route we have going. I will continue to repeat myself in saying that we need to figure out what time we are aiming to get to Cayuga!!!!

D is our ancaster spot (if you have a better location suggest it, i don't know ancaster). Looks like it will take us two hours to get to cayuga, so we will probably have to leave mississaga around 830-9

It's a dental office so I am sure it will be closed, plus we won't be sitting around for long. 3 Wilson St E is the address. the wilson street to 403 to 6 will have a few fun on ramps, then we pass right by my road lol. And should be a good drive from there on to. Roads wont be bad in ancaster as long as the construction they were doing the beginning of summer has moved along

if you all head off the highway towards wilson there will actually be two big grocery store parkinglots as well when you turn left down wilson, on each side of the road. Dentist office seems sketchy. grocery stores would be visible from the fiddlers/wilson intersection (left)
and then could pull into the one on the same side of the road your already on? Shouldnt cause any crazy interuptions in our formation this time either.then we d go left from there, andwhen turning back onto fiddlers the light has a yeild to traffic going through if it is red, and you can still can go right on a merge lane anyways. fiddlers basically ends there and isnt too busy anyways. I hope that makes some sense.

Ok I will change the route ending in ancaster, we will end off at the dollarama (right beside the fortinos) that way we have more that enough space to park and we don't have to make a left turn when we are leaving.

That actually makes the most sense, there is a gas station there too. Unsure if they have 94 tho. Never go there. One will also be across the road. Dont believe it has 94. Most stations out here wont. I ve never seen it.

So I just checked our Burlington stop and there is Shell (only place I fill up) gas station down the road from there.

What is the estimated arrival time at the track? What time do they open?

Track is open at 11, google says we will be there around 11:07 but I find it is generally later than what you would actually get there. I will bet on us being there just before 11.

Plus if we have everyone we aren't going to wait until our leave time to head out. If everyone is ready to go then we will leave before the time I had set.

no that's not the right one, take a look at the route from burlington to ancaster, it shows where it is located.

Does this track require helmets for this event? I normally always wear one on a track anyways, but just want to check.

As for helmets and passengers, you need a helmet if your car runs 13.99 and quicker. That is also the cutoff of passengers. Over 13.99 you can have a passenger and don't need a helmet, under 13.99 you can't have a passenger and need a helmet. Hope that makes sense.

ahahaha, I was getting hassled lots so I went for it! I kept getting 15 and change and then on my third launch I nailed it and got a 14.8

That's cuz your best 60' was a 2.9. There's no reason a 16G powered car, with supporting fuel mods, intake, FMIC, full exhaust, and ECM Link should be running as fast as a bone stock TSi AWD

I still think you should've tried a 4500-5000 RPM 2 step. You would've easily gotten that thing into the 13's

Well unfortunately I don't have supporting fuel mods, I was doing 11 pounds of boost and I was getting knock at around 6000 rpms. I need to get my new pump in for sure and I think I should be good for 14 pounds+ and then new injectors and I will be good to go. New clutch and I will raise the RPMs to that range.

Yeah, I think I will do another week of soaking the nuts on the sending unit and then go for it next week. I was going to go for a brand new sending unit but I spoke with Ziggy and he said that won't be till winter time so I will wait till then.

It's not the sending unit that's the big issue, it's the goddamn tiny studys they use to hold it down. I managed to only break 2 of the 6, but unfortunately they were two beside each other so sending unit doesn't seal properly on that one side.

Otherwise though, a stock sending unit works fine. I modified mine to be completely -AN. It's quite easy to do and a fairly quick process. I can post up some pictures later, if you'd like.

Dave did it too, and I have looked at the guide and am worried about doing it.

As for soaking that is what I was referring to, I am really scared about breaking the tiny studs.

Maybe I will review the sending unit guide a few times and go for the AN route, then I can do AN from tank to rail.

In alot of ways, the best solution is the -AN bulkhead fitting route that you refer to. Looks like we (meaning RTM) are going to go with a competely re-designed sending unit. It's already in the design phase, but it won't be ready for this season, that's for sure.

Anyway, none of these solutions (bulkhead fitting, new sending unit, etc) can fix broken studs. There are ways around it if you happen to break some, but it's best not to break any.

mine came out well for as old as she was but I still get in there and spray fluid film like its free when I am in the hatch area and just unscrew that lid

hahaha, jason that works, yeah I have had penetrating oil on there for about a month, I will probably apply all this week and then go at it next week maybe.

Either way, once you get those suckers off, just anti-seize the crap out of them whenever you put them back on. I can't understand how they thought 6 of the tiniest studs ever, attached to the tank and exposed to the elements would be a good idea.

Yeah I highly suggest you do everything you can to keep those little studs from snapping. It will save you a lot of hassel. Moding the sending unit is the easy part! Its very straight forward if you have the proper parts.

Yeah I think I have decided I will do the bulkhead conversion with the AN lines to the rail.

Well i finally figured out how to launch her without bogging. I managed a 12.944@ 106.5 on this pass with a 1.8 0-60. I finally cracked into the 12's so i was happy and called it a night. It was really hot out so I was getting heat soaked and not holding boost.

I think I found out why I kept knocking keeping me from running quicker than mid 12's... spark plug wires ftl...

Yea definately was alot of fun. My buddies got me to give in and run the car in its current state, so I figured what the hell. It was good to get a base time of what it is running before I have everything done next year. I was only launching at 4000 or 4500, but the stock clutch is almost done. Engine not even tuned and has major compression issues lol. Ran mid 15s, and was happy, didnt expect much out of it this year. Next year will be a differant story...

That was my first time too. I had an amazing time and cant wait to do it again. I am thinking of going Friday for the test and tune if anyone cares to go again.
