90 Eagle (NT-AUTO) Transmission Replacement

90 Eagle (NT-AUTO) Transmission Replacement - March 10, 2000 01:50 pm UTC

Looks like the tranny has gone on the 1990 (non-turbo) Eagle. Basically, the gears were slipping for a few months, though the tranny fluid seemed to be up. After that, it now does not engage at all

A couple of questions, considering that we'd like to keep the car.

(1) What is the best route to go on replacing/repairing an automatic tranny 1990?

(2) What is a reasonably price to pay on this type of repair.

Appreciate any help I can get....
Thanks,
Brad

Used low milage engine from Japan is anywhere from 700-1200 and by far the fastest and cheapest way to get going. a used low milage mitsu tranny is better than a rebuilt one.

Look in the yellow page under automobile wreckers for the Japan tranny #'s. There's about 5 in Toronto.

Shouldn't take more than 5 hours for the swap. I can do it in my driveway with hand tools in 5. (not offering, just giving a time estimate)
