1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX - April 24, 2017 07:13 pm UTC

Selling my DSM, as I have no time for it anymore.

I got this car in 2007 and it led me to meet many great individuals from this board and elsewhere.

All parts on this car were put on brand new I have all the receipts and invoices most were from Ziggy or extremepsi.

1999 Eclipse GSX (AWD) (E-tested/certified) never winter driven by me also not a daily driver.

The motor I bought from Peter Urac from this board here is the specs on the motor:

Eagle rods/Wiseco pistons .20 over
Clevite main and rod bearings
ARP head studs
Cometic head gasket
1mm oversized stainless steel nitrate coated valves
FP double valve springs
FP2x cams
3g lifters
Head has a 3 angle valve job
New oil pump
New water pump
Emissions block off plate
Newer crank, it had like 10,000 miles on it.
New seals and gaskets all around
Thermal Barrier gasket between engine block and intake manifold
AC removed
2G Power steering kept

Forced Performance exhaust manifold
Apexi N1 Downpipe + exhaust (catless) I removed the N1 muffler and put in a Magnaflow instead

850cc FIC 850CC brand new injectors from RTM Racing
AEM UEGO wideband
AEM A1000 Fuel pressure regulator (SS line from rail to regulator)
AEM Fuel Filter (SS line from filter to rail) I also had a custom flared fitting made to convert stock line from pump to filter to prevent leaks.
Walbro 255lpg hp edition
Brand new alternator from Parts Source
Brand new machined throttle body FIAV blocked off/isc removed.

The ECU is running EVOSCAN+ECUFLASH tune using the black flash ecu. It also comes with a touchscreen windows PC to tune the car and do logging etc

Fuel pump shutoff (circuit breaker)
Turn off car power in engine bay (Circuit breaker)
Rewired Alternator to battery
EVO big16G turbo (from RTM) tuned to 22PSI of boost.
Koni shocks/struts coilovers (adjustable) from Peter Urac
ETS Intercooler 2.5 inch SS piping

Prosport Oil pressure sender and oil temp pressure gauges (I have the sensors but didn't get chance to install them)

Replaced cigarette lighter with push engine start (needs key in ignition to work)

The battery has been relocated to the trunk in a battery box using a summit racing kit, there are also two amplifiers (one for sub, one for speakers) with a cap in the trunk. I also replaced the stock speaker wiring with new wires. Sound is from a 3.5mm female jack for ipod hookup via a equalizer. Alpine 12 inch subs X 2

The bad: There is a hot idle issue where the engine floors with fuel and have to put the gas down to get it to hot start. I haven't had the time to fix this . its not the injectors I had a spare set same issue. Its probably related to the air tuning at idle as I have no ISC hooked up. I've able to get it fine by adjusting the BISS but haven't had the chance to fully verify if its gone.

I broke the fuel level sender when installing the pump a 2nd time the sender needs to be replaced.

There is alot more in this car that I haven't added or can't think of at this time. Below are the pictures. Thanks for reading and a big thank you to everyone who helped me out from parts to advice to turning a wrench with me.

Anyone considering buying this, for the hot start issue, try checking the coolant temp sensor. Had that issue one of my DSMs. It always read the coolant as -200C, thus flooded the engine thinking it was a really really cold start.

Good luck on the sale!

Need to safety it and clean some things up. Solid and fast car tho! It ll hold me over and help me out till my build is done. Can't wait to plate it.

It's funny though I d never have been able to or considered buying it if my acura el wasn't stolen and recovered. Just sold a tsx that was replacement to my best buddy and bought this instead. Hustling 😆

Mike, side note, looks like this car has an Apexi N1 exhaust? If so, I'd drop it to check out the resonators. If the awd system uses the same resonators as the fwd system (fwd had 2 of them), they look normal externally but actually neck down to less then 2" internally, which obviously hurts top end power big time.

Thanks Daren! Haven't had a hoist or even my jacks available just yet ! Seems too loud to have resonators lol . I think the need for tune is killing all my power lol. Seems clean enough excited to get a better look underneath
