Haha... So I see that my "calling for some help" thread got locked. It's all goood.
Thought I'd update you guys as to where I'm at.
Last night I got under the car to get a better look at what's going on.

Re Water Pump:
So after taking off panels under the car it was right infront of my face that it seems like my water pump is fine. There is a flange that clamps the water pipe to the pump. This flange has a gasket and I noticed it full of a grey type RVT caulking around it. There is coolant all around it and when I fired up the car, there was a drop or two coming out every minute! Needless to say this pissed me off as 401 Dixie mitsu was telling me I need a new pump! I decided to grab my bill of $5891 and sure enough that gasket was "changed" was or my bill or was it changed? Why is it leaking and why do I need a new pump? These are questions I'll be asking the general manager today when I go see him!

Re Release Bearing/slave:
I removed the check plate on the tranny last night and noticed that the fluid is coming from inside so I'll have no choice but to pull it out and open it up to see what's going on!
I've gotten a few guys on here who have offered to help so I'll be calling on them soon when I can do it and I'm going to tell Mitsu that I'll be inspecting this problem also very closley to see if it was done properly! Thankfully, Ziggy @ RTM has been working closley with me and is able to source an OEM bearing/slave so I'll be getting that from him.

Thanks again to Stephen Richardson & Reza Mirza who've been a great help to bounce off ideas.

Cheers

What really confuses me is. That If my dealership replaced your engine and clutch reguardless of what parts you supplied them. They should be cutting you a break or covering it fully. Seems like a poorly run Dealership to me.....

Ziggy and I had a quick chat about your situation last night when I was down at RTM. Shops don't like customer supplied parts. They make a lot of their money off of part markups. I would not be surprised if they were trying to recoup on some losses.

I'm glad you're going over things before just replacing what they told you to replace. It definitely wouldn't be the first time a Mitsu dealer tried to screw around with one of the guys on here (Tim Sedore).

Let me know if you need a hand pulling that tranny out.

That's really sad. I thought Dixie Mitsu had a good reputation?

Parts guy is friendly anyways. I also saw quite a few evos in their shop a couple of years ago being serviced.

Maybe a talk with them will clear things up.

Just remember to approach without hostility.

Good luck with this!

I imagine, they are going to feed you a line about not being a professional mechanic and how that means you don't know anything.

Either way I wish you luck, hopefully you get some resolve

Bah, I'd like to see them try!
A Professional machanic also doesn't use RVT to seal a water pump clamp! They can come at me with whatever but at this point, I'll fix it myself! But they will regret the day they screwed this Portuguese cheap bastard and took his families hard earned money for a ride! AND they haven't met my wife yet! bomb LOL

Well as one of your Portuguese Brethren I offer any help you need.
If you blow them up like crazy all over the review sites that will make a huge difference. Buddy of mine had an issue with a Honda dealer and he did a ton of sh!t reviews and they came crawling to help him.

Hey Guys,

Just got back from Mitsu and spoke to General Manager. He didn't even know what to say to me! Showed him pictures and diagram of the gasket changed that I got invoiced for! The service manager and mechanic who worked on my car were not there so it was not able to go any further but the GM said that he would take care of this first thing on Tuesday! We'll see... I told him that I HATE being lied to and once you do that it's game over and now I can't trust the dealership or any for that matter. For now, I'm parking the car as my parents are gone for 6 weeks and I'll be using they're car. Tuesday I guess it D day for Mitsu but even if they fix this... They're reputation is done with me!

I have a feeling they'll end up taking care of you. If I remember right, it was Dixie that took care of Tim after Erin Mills fucked him around.

Definitely a blow to their reputation though. Duct tape style repairs don't belong in a dealership.

I haven't ordered the new release bearing yet, waiting to confirm yours is leaking. With the shoddy work they did, It wouldn't surprise me if they just didn't connect the line properly. Maybe it is just leaking at the fitting.

I will wait until you have it out and have CONFIRMED it is defective before ordering the replacement...

Yes Ziggy. It might be that they will replace it after the stink I did at the dealer.
I'll let you know if I need it ordered.

Thanks Mike, the uploading is being goofy for some reason.
I think they are trying to get rid of picasa web or trying to integrate it more into google plus.
Surprising Picasa is a much easier thing to use on the phone then it is on the computer.

That's ridiculous!

How does such a "repair" occur at a DEALERSHIP?

I would be livid, and take these guys to the cleaners by spamming EVERY person considering bringing DIXIE any business.

Hey wait a second..didn't this same thing happen not long ago, and Andrew B. got a letter from a "judge" about the thread we had??

I thought the same thing at first. It appears that where you see that green stuff that is all light grey RTV. Instead of using a gasket they put rtv and it still leaked so they tried to cover it in rtv to stop it. Likely they knew what the problem was but sent the car out anyways.

And I was charged for that gasket. It was on my invoice. The foil piece I'm not sure what it is but took a picture. I just want my car fixed but this dealers reputation will be tainted.

I don't really know Lancer's all that well but if I had to guess, it's a reverse switch on the transmission. Or the VSS. It looks electrical. And that "foil" looks like it COULD have been oem, heat reflective wrap protects the pig tail..? may have been replaced recently.

So I had the car in the drive way, rolled it out and cleaning up the garage. Now, fired her up and all of a sudden my clutch felt light and I was in reverse! RPM's shot up.. I was like what the! Tried pulling it out of revers and it was tough.... Turned the car off and pumped the clutch and feels like nothing!
I guess the slave problem just got worse! Good thing it happened here and not on the road! Checked under the engine in my garage and it's dripping much more! Now the car needs to be towed! Gosh I love cars!!! LOL...

Isaque, hopefully you are not getting more fluid onto the clutch.
I would be a little surprised to see the slave go so bad so quickly....I would NOT be surprise to find that they did not connect the line properly....

Please let me know what is found to be the case..

Ziggy,
I'm not driving it. I just happend to pull the car out of the garage and then when I went to put it back in, it got worse and I turned of the car. I'll have to get it towed to dealer but only if they agree to fix it for free! If not I'm doing it here!

Cheers

atleast the tow will be free where ever you decide to take it. Mitsubishi warranty is good for something. I've had parts replaced for free because of it and im halfway done my warranty already. Just passed 100000 on my 2010 lancer but I bought the extended warranty.

Curious, why did you have to swap in a new motor into a relatively new car?

Ian. I spun a bearing on the crank. My km's were 174000 so my warranty was over.

It's a 4B11 NA.. They told me that most likely my engine was a dud! It was the first spun bearing the dealership had seen!
It did last 174xxx KM and I do drive a bit aggressive soo..... But still....

Ok so I email GM at Mitsu and he said that his mechanic and service manager are all out this week for vacation! He did mention to me that he spoke to service guy and his recommendation to me was to use OEM parts and I didn't listen to him! That shot me through the roof and had a few good words for him on email which I'm saving to see the outcome of this! Now I've got to wait another week and I'll be leaving for vacation on the 16th! If nothing is resolved early next week, it could be into September before this gets resolved! I'm going to visit Mitsu head office today and not leave until I talk to someone who matters!
