I can't seem to figure this one out.
I have power at the relay, the last owner has hotwired for god knows why but putting in a relay doesn't fix it so I will leave it hotwired so I don't need to worry about that being the cause.
I do not have power at the relay in the engine bay for the tails no matter what I do. I am not sure if I have power in car but the relay is good there.
I am going to try to see if the rheostat is the issue, I will probably go and grab something so I can hook up a batter and test light today.

Wondering if any of you have had this issue before. The last thing I was doing was wiring in the gauges for the car, I don't have them hooked up to the dimmer switch, they have there own wires into the fuse box and are always full bright.

Well it's not the rheostat, I just checked to see if it was getting power and it seems it's not so the power is not getting from the relay to the rheostat.

Reading these wiring diagram is pretty painful for me so if anyone has any tips that would be great, I have the FSM if you want to take a look too.

Sorry we were out last night so I didn't get a chance to double check after it was dark, but pretty sure it's all the dash lights and the tails. only thing I have on the dash are the indicators lights (cel and those)

If it was just dash lights I would say it could be your dimmer switch (happened to me) but if it's the tails too I'm not so sure unless they're unrelated issues.

So I spent a good chunk of time trying to figure this out, big thanks to Stephen for helping me out too.
GW wire is what feed power to this fuse, there is power going into the fuse block but no power coming out of it and I followed the wire from the block to the to the rheostat and see no splits.
So going to see if replacing the fuse block fixes the issue once I grab one.

The other thing I am struggling with is the path the wire takes. Like when does the split happen that powers the tail lights.

Petty sure there is a fuse that powers the two.
I've had that happen to me a couple times.

Stock.

Well still struggling with this damn issue.
It seems like its something in the engine bay, I don't have power to the wire that enters the distribution block and then connects to the power source for the rheostat.
I am doing my kill switch next so when during that I will double check the fuses inside there.

I have now printed off the junction block wiring and know exactly which wire feeds power to the junction block, which then comes out another connector and goes into the rheostat. I will test feed wire first and then go from there.

Well i am lost, i have power at the relay and i tested to make sure the relay was working and i have no power at the wire that enters the distribution block.

If I check continuity between the connector going into the junction box, when it's disconnected, to a ground it gets zero, does that mean the wire is split and is grounding out somewhere?

Another question if the rheostat wasn't getting power, would the headlights go up and down when I push the button?

What relay are you testing? The tail light? And then you dont have power at c-43 pin 6?

If you have a power wire shorted to ground they blow fuses.

And are you resistance testing or using the continuity function on you meter.

All the rheostat does is controll ground side resistance to dim the lights on your dash.

yeah tested the taillight relay, has power on both sides and also was working.

On 90/91 it's c-48 pin 8 that feeds the junction block from the engine bay. I don't know what else it could be though cause according to the diagram it's a straight shot from the relay to the junction box.

Continuity function on my meter.

Ok

Text me a picture of a 90/91 wiring diagram.
