So i was driving home from school and was cruising at around 80kmh max and i went from 3rd to 4th pressed the accelerator casually by no means WOT and i heard what i think was a loud bang followed by a chaos of a grinding sound (imagine driving on seized brakes) several thuds and clunks when i was in gear and accelerating it got considerably worse...

In neutral it didnt sound as chaotic but it did seem to be getting calmer as i decelerated. Going into gear did feel tougher and more hesitant than usual.

When i pulled over noticed a trail of what i believe is transmission fluid and a steady leak from the underside near the transmission

I am assuming it is the axle popping out and seperating from the transmission.

if anyone has experienced similar symptoms or has heard of someone with them and know where i should look or can help diagnose.

The car is parked at a friends shop and not at home so i cannot go and inspect til tmmw

Best inspection is to actually look and see where the leak is. Anything else is just a guess. Might be an axle maybe it didnt seat right when you had your cclutch done.

Happened to me once on a brand new car... the ball joint popped out and pulled the axle out with it when the wheel went sideways. If your wheels were still on straight, I'm guessing it's not what you think.

Going to inspect tmmw morning

Wheels were still straight and i did have to steer it a bit when being put on flatbed also did make a right turn after this happened to pull over

im hoping its just a snapped axle

$10 you blew the transmission and one of the busted gears/parts worked its way to the front diff housing, busting a hole through the case and leaked all the trans fluid. Hope its not the case but you might need to swap in another transmission.

You win $10 Reza! Spoke to him this morning and his tranny is toast, on his way to grab another and get it swapped in.

Yea still havent gone to take a look myself but from what the guy at the shop said is bellhousing has shotgun wounds to it...grabbing a members trans later this evening...she should be back on the road tmmw
