Maybe but I'll deal with it for now.

t's been a long time since I've posted any updates so I'll share some things I've done recently.
There's not a whole hell of a lot changed due to just a lack of time, whenever I am home I try to spend time with my family more then the car. I'm actually home now to do my last block of school and become a Journeyman Electrician so that's taking up a lot of my spare time; I am trying to get a couple things done though.

Back to the wiring.
First I mounted up my SRR that feeds the Fuel pump rewire. This is mounted behind the rear interior panels. I might actually move some of my EHPS stuff here too.
I need to shave down the wiring stud to fit into the SRR.
[Linked Image]

Back into the passenger side fender harness, to finalize the lengths for the reverse light switch, Boost control solenoid and a couple other things.
[Linked Image]

Bagged up and ready to be finished at home.
[Linked Image]

Some where around here I managed to break a set of dykes that my old man has had forever, oops. I bought him a nice new pair of Klein dykes.
[Linked Image]

Finished my ground cables up.
[Linked Image]

And my firewall to starter cable.

Finished getting all the lengths for the driver side wiring. I actually had to add in some of the EHPS wiring I forgot about, oops.
[Linked Image]

Soldered (or crimped) connectors on to both passenger and driver side harness; fog light, EHPS pump, fan, etc.
[Linked Image]
[Linked Image]
[Linked Image]

Mount I made up for the AEM COP box.
[Linked Image]

Used some faucet washers to give a bit of a spacer for some isolation.
[Linked Image]
[Linked Image]

Also one step back, pulled the chassis harness again. Making some changes (DRLs and some other things).

Made some templates and cut them out with the grinder.
[Linked Image]
[Linked Image]

Booger welded them in place, I hate welding sheet metal. Need to get some seam sealer on them to pretty them up a bit.
[Linked Image]
[Linked Image]
[Linked Image]
[Linked Image]

Also retapped the holes for my fender hardware so I've actually got 4 bolts on each side now.

Got some rubber mounts for the EHPS pump. Hopefully this will keep noise/vibration down. I'm thinking I will weld the mount to the frame (already did that with the battery mount).
[Linked Image]

I had picked up some Morimoto LED fog lights for the Fiesta but I decided to use them on the Talon instead of the BMW X5 LED Fogs I picked up. Made some mounts that bolt to the crash bar and place the fogs in the outside 'mouths' on the bumper.
[Linked Image]
[Linked Image]

Oh no, the fogs aren't straight! This is why I love aluminum for making mounts. 2 seconds with a pair of vice grips and they're straight.
[Linked Image]

Tossed the bumper on, love how it will look when FINALLY complete.
[Linked Image]

I had to trim the mounts on 1 side off, couple minutes with the dremel and it's like they were never there.
[Linked Image]
[Linked Image]

What happened to the X5 LEDs, well, I put them in my headlights to act as DRLs and auxiliary fogs (though they might not work very well in the position).
[Linked Image]

That's it for now.
I've got a bunch of work still and parts to buy. There's some things I will be changing with the wiring and adding in (plugs for meth injection so it will be plug and play, adding the X5 fog wiring, etc).
Most the work I'm doing now is in my garage and not on the car (stupid snow/cold).

Some more updates on this bucket, inching closer and closer to finishing it.

Got my hands on a 96A Saturn Alternator, this will be converted to a 1 wire set up.
[Linked Image]

Maintenance stuff - MT90, MTL, Shockproof and plugs.
[Linked Image]

Custom PS high side line with a fitting that will allow me to do a field splice - it's much like at
AN fitting just rated for a much higher PSI.
[Linked Image]

4 port Lancer master cylinder for my booster delete.
[Linked Image]

More wiring stuff, point to point and loomed the COP harness.
[Linked Image]

Back into the fender harnesses, had to had some 4 pin connectors for my bumper and headlight markers/turn signals.
[Linked Image]

Made sure all the wires/plugs were in the correct spot on the cannon plug.
[Linked Image]

Did point to point testing on both Driver and passenger fender harnesses. Plus made sure my pin outs were correct, I'll make a digital version of those too.

Then I went on to looming both harnesses.
[Linked Image]
[Linked Image]

Shot of the harnesses all loomed.

[Linked Image]
[Linked Image]

Packed up to go out to the car.
[Linked Image]

Chassis harness back on the bench - need to confirm some wires are there plus run wires for my Corolla LEDs.
[Linked Image]

I REALLY hate this harness now.

Picked up an aluminum radiator for a MK3 GTI. I had to do some minor mods to the core support so it would slip under. Right now the stock hood latch is still there but to get both 12" fans installed it's got to go. I'll run some Aerocatch hood pins to latch the hood down.
This freed up a ton of room in the engine bay.
[Linked Image]

Fender harnesses installed, still need to route/secure some things under the frame rails but I didn't bring my jack out.
[Linked Image]
[Linked Image]

Seam sealer on all the block off plates.
[Linked Image]

Vacuum lines run to the BOV and IAC (can't see it because it's behind the motor.
[Linked Image]

Master cylinder installed. Running a Wilwood adjustable push rod that I still need to fine tune the adjustment of.
[Linked Image]

Started running the brake lines, 4 ports will make it a lot easier.

Moved the fuel filter down lower on the firewall, need to get an SS bolt. I would have done the rail to filter line but I couldn't find the fittings and didn't feel like gutting the car.
[Linked Image]

PS high and low lines run under the frame rail, just need to cut them and connect it all up. Running without a PS cooler for now.
[Linked Image]

Overall motor shot, getting closer, just need a couple more things.

Will do, it should hold up pretty good - that line is rated for 5000psi. I might see about doing some sort of armour on it where it goes across the frame rails.

I vote for through the frame rail, surface mounted sounds like too much work to protect it from possible damage.

My PS line relocation worked very well when I used the high pressure braided hose.

One thing I will credit Subaru's for is their fuel and brake lines are ran through the cabin and grommets if and when I do mine, I'll be taking that path.

I might still go this route.
I didn't have my jack to actually look at routing it through the frame.

Not sure I like that, if you ever have a leak it's in the car.
My fuel lines are all braided nylon so I'm not too worried about them. I'd like to use ni-copp line for my brakes but I've got this line hear already.

That's why secure the lines and insulate them to keep vibrations from springing a leak.

More then just subaru did that. And never have any leaked internal of the cabin. Only the exposed bits ever rotted out.

I see, still it sits odd with me. I just wouldn't like either line running through the cabin.

Time for a sad update.

I've found some major rot in the unibody frame of the car. While I knew she wasn't in good shape, I didn't think it would be this far gone.

I'm going to strip all my parts off the shell, pull the motor and trans then scrap the shell. I'm going to sit on the parts for now and hopefully get a new shell in time.

we have many clean shells at junkies near LA. Never yet found GSX but 95% are base GS and 5% Spyders/GST with zero rust but faded paint/clearcoat by sun. The place called LKQ Pick your part and this place is close to me. You can even search their inventory online.

Here is one from two weeks ago
