One of My old Saturn buddies had a $40,000 show car he worked on all the time. had sponsers.. trophies.. you name it. he was king of DarkNights for awhile too. I was there when his girlfreind of 7 years gave him the ultimatum... With out even a thought he threw her her keys and said SEE YA! I couldnt beleive it.. he kicked her out that day! a week later he had a car chick!

What a rice fest Darknights used to be. I lived pretty much 10 minutes from where it was every year in Markham, and I always made sure never to drive my DSM on that day.

MTO would always be out in full force pulling over all sorts of ricers.

Most of it was paid for by the sponsers.. At one point he was told to start trailering the car to shows. He didnt want to... So he parked the car. Started a saturn wagon drag car. Full fiberglass flip front end. Replaced all the floor with aluminum... Rebiult the aluminum block with fordged internals, ran a hand cafted tubular header into a bumper mounted gt45 turbo. Megasquirt.. Then the Redline came out and all the saturn guys jumped on that bandwagon. SATURN Redline.. Comes supercharged stock... Thro on a huge turbo kit and you got a 500+ hp monstar that ways 2400lbs. Just add slicks.

this was a 388hp 93 sl2 saturn.. This guy biult his exaust manifold, intake manifold, designed his own cams.. all his own porting.. Started a very successfull business doing it and eventually got contracts towork on high end super cars. I beleive he worked for Titan motorsports when they biult the 1000hp Supra.

So if you can put on a big turbo on to that Redline thing, Why are you even in to DSM's then? I know because you have to replace the motors weekly in those POS

And which 1000hp supra? Titan has built more then you can shake a stick at...

500hp on a FWD is horrible. Slicks or not. That just sounds like a waste of time and money.

But having an extra 100hp on some ragged POS that absolutely nobody expects can be entertaining. By no means fast. But fun.
