So i am thinking about finally painting my 2g. As some know.. The clear coat is gone in some spots... And the roof is peeling.

Thinking glossy black. Maybe flat black roof, spoiler and rims.(plastidip)

I will attempt to paint it my self..

Where abouts is the best place for paint?

I prefere to purchase my supplies now.

The glossy black will be real paint.

Most Napa stores have a paint department. Also there is Sherwin Williams. Not sure where Belleville any of those places are but a quick google search will help you out.

How much should I be looking at? Prolly do everything but the hood first.

Lucian painted his 1g before the gem he found. Good paint job too. May be a good idea to ask him. He may even have techniques or deals.

My buddy used the Dupont Chromax on my bumper and hatch, it's the water based stuff and very easy to apply. I believe it was about $75 for a pint of base then around the same for the clear.

2 pints was enough to do the bumper, hatch and my bay with a little to spare. A quart would probably do a whole car. Expensive but with paint you get what you pay for.
