Hi,

I have been having issues trying to get my 1990 1g Talon TSI AWD to pass emissions. I have a MAFT and an SAFCII setup. Here are the configuration details and associated test results of the last 3 runs:

Test 1. MAFT at normal settings. All neutral. No changes.
S-AFC at 10%. Fail HC idle at 226

Test 2. MAFT idle setting (second knob from the left) down 2 knotches. S-AFC at 10%. Fail HC idle at 245

Test 3. MAFT idle setting remains at down 2 knotches. S-AFC at - 3%. Fail HC idle at 266.

What are some possible solutions to get her to pass? Does the MAFT affect the SAFC? Could it be the catalytic converter?

Ideally, I would like to not have to do this test a hundred times before finally passing. Open to hear your thoughts, experiences and advice.

Ideally if your maft and safc are zero'd out it should be running on stock parameters.

Your car is 27 years old.....you don't need an emissions test for cars 25+ years.

Actually Brian the year stopped moving as soon as it hit 88 unfortunately.

I started with MAFT, then installed SAFC afterwards. Just never uninstalled the MAFT; but its zero'd out.
