So I've done some searching but haven't come across the answers I was looking for.
I've got a 2g gst Spyder with a 1g alternator in it. It has a stock computer and is spitting out an alternator related issue. I know that the the 2g has the 4 wires and I'm assuming because of the 2 cut or unused wires is why the check engine light is coming on.
I'm wondering if I can hook 1 or 2 of those wires up to something and trick the computer? I know one of the wires is the regulator and probably the important one. So I'm wondering if there's any options to use the 1g alternator with the stock computer and not get codes?
If not, I'll go get a 2g alternator. Any insight would be great!

This wasn't a mod I did. It was already done.

Odd.

I run a single wire Saturn alternator.

Only 1 wire from the talons pigtail is used.. and I think it's just the dash light. Link shows a code... but the engine light has never come on.. and it's always passed an etest

That's my issue. It runs great but there's no link so check engine light is on. Can't get an e test with that on.

Someone told me recently that emissions were dropped in Ontario.
