There's no replacement for the real deal. You need all the cars and people from all over North America to make it what it is.

Now let's take a look at some pics.
I know we all have busy schedules but i really appreciate you were all able make it. Regarding the bill, no big deal at all. I saved ton of money over last 10+ years by learning from the crew and buying parts and service from our board.

Definitely big thanks to Ziggy and Alex, very kind of you both.

Sorry I didn't answer quicker, tried going on site yesterday and kept getting an error.

Awesome to put faces to names of people I hadn't met before and to see people I haven't seen in a while.

I also spotted an X-files agent

Would actually be cool to do a Canadian DSM meet ( HUGE *Trump accent* one) Not saying we could be bigger than the DSM meet in Ohio, but would definitely be a cool thing to have every year.

There are lots of smaller local tracks where meets happen, and that is great, but it just doesn't compare to the annual shootout where all the big names show, and there are DSMers from all over North America.

In my mind, although tracks or dynos would be great dont' get me wrong, I'd be ok with a general meet of anyone and everyone in Canada with DSMs a certain date that repeats itself (or 1rst wkn of whatever month) annually. Not only is it nice to see the old cars still kicking but it's also a motivator when you see others with working cars. Same can be said with dynos/race events of the cars actually improving.

I just don't want this community (not just our forum but in general) die out to single DIYers that keep to themselves. People need to talk/work amongst themselves to keep things alive and competitive. For example DSMQuebec is well...pretty much dead and people barely talk to each other.

I am pretty sure there was still a decent turnout from DSM Quebec at last year's shootout.

The core guys are still there and we still attend the Shootout and the SSPA but it's a very small group. There hasn't been an annual Gala(pretty much like we just did) for several years. The forum gets maybe 1-2 posts a week.

Sadly Facebook has done a lot of damage to the boards, most newcomers don't even know what a forum is.

This was our biggest local gathering last year

I agree with this 100%. I don't have FB, so I definitely noticed the drop in activity across all of the forum's I'm part of. I think I caught the tail end of forum popularity when I joined my first DSM forum back in like 2007-2008. Started going downhill from there frown

I agree Lucian I joined in 2006.. and it was thriving with lots to do. But it quickly thinned out.

I thought it was me for a while.

I Calendared the event, but just been spending too much money with the 2 dsms lately and haven't made much time for myself outside of work. Turned out to be a busy week to do the 7 hr round trip. would have been nice to make the meet but I will continue to bring a running car to whatever I can in the non winter months. Especially ohio and the shootout 😆

Jerry! Good to see you man. But I think you're forgetting that old man Richardson still hangs around these parts! (That's his favourite nickname)

I'm sure we'll get another meet together in the springtime, would be great to have you out!

Lol.... Who you calling Old ?

It is good to see that there are still some core DSMer willing to make a drive for a meet.

Forsure this spring/summer we need to get another KW/Guelph meet organized.
