MPI = Multi Point Injection

There is a fuse block on the positive battery terminal, where you will find the MPI fuse.
This fuse also powers the ECU.

The MPI relay is located under the glove box.
It clicks when you turn the car on/off. It turns the fuel pump on, and probably some other things as well.

If you open the MPI Relay box,you`d see it`s basically 2 switches.They make contact when they see 12v power,which magnetically pulls the arm over to complete the circut.When the key is turned to the "on" position,the ECU gets power.When the ingition is turned to "start",the fuel pump powers.The click heard after shutting the car off is actually the ECU power getting shut off,the arm clicks when contact is broken.

I had some bad ECU/MPI issues when i 1st got the car,which taught me way too much. shuffle

Thanks Jer and Rob.

I hope you guys can help me on this one cuz i'm stumped. But I'm still tryin.

The issue I'm having is that I keep blowing the fuse for the MPI. I basically opened up the spaghetti lines of the ECU and MPI looking for a short. The fuse heats up if i have the key to the ON possition.

The MPI and the ECU checks out and they are fine. I tried the process of elimination and found out that with the ECU connected. fuse is fine. With the ECU and MPI connected the fuse heats up. So I'm working on the lines and items related/connect to the MPI. any suggestions?

Problem solved. Electrical lines of the 02 sensor were shorted.
