Ok everyone, I'll try to make this short and sweet but it is a long story. Im sure a bunch of you have seen or heard of this 2003 Sean Hyland Supercharged yellow Cobra Mustang "VENOM", done up like a Corbra R. Well anyway he's from the London area but races in everything all across Ontario. He is also a regular out at the King of the Hill competition at Delaware Speedway (a half mile oval). Nobody has been able to beat this guy out there yet. We won one of the KOTH nights this year with the 2G black beast but he was not there that night. Last Friday night was the last one of the year and we wanted a piece of this guy. I didn't care about taking home the hardware, we came to stop this Cobra. Our car of choice this time was our own 91 AWD talon dynoing right now at 395 whp. Getting right to the racing. My first race was no problem. Second race was fun beating a "hulked up" 5.0 mustang. Third race: me vs. VENOM. The offical lined us up at the start/finish, pointed his flag at me first "Are you ready". I went on launch control then he pointed his flag at "VENOM" and the S.O.B. took off and left me standing there. Now you all notice that I didn't say that the offical dropped the flag meaning we can go. He jumped the start. Not by a bumper, but by a mile. He obviously beat me and they didn't call a restart. I am pissed, so I pull back through the pit and right up beside him. "Do you want to this again? The right way, a fair race." I said to him. He wants nothing to do with it, and says he left early because I have a more powerful car and AWD. He goes to the final and wins his trophy and the offical on the microphone says to him. "The talon is pissed, what happened?" He openly admits to about 1000 people in the crowd that he left early because of me having a more powerful car. Well at least half of those 1000 people "booooooo..ed" him off the oval. The more power thing is a cop-out because I know that he is pushing almost 600whp out of that Cobra. A fair race between the 2 of us would have been great, and if (big IF) he would have beat me, I might have just shook his hand. This guy obviously would have done anything to not be beat. If I scared him that bad that he had to cheat I'll take it as a compliment because his Cobra is no joke. But he is a joke and a cheat and the colour of his car is perfect for him "yellow". I'll put this guy away next year. If he shows up. If you guys want a good laugh go on www.lamc.ca then go to "racing" "King of the Hill" for the mustang take on it. When he mentions his "little stunt", he means "cheated" like a yellow belly Cobra shitstang thats getting an AWD TSI beatdown the next time I see him. Sorry its so long of a story, thanks for listening.

WOw, Pat, you're notorious on that site...these shitstang guys are quite afraid of a TSi AWD with some mods.

Quote

From the LAMC Forum:

The Talon owner is not a friend but we met a while back on Sparta where he made it clear that he wanted to kick my ass on KOTH!
Racing a few modified AWD TSI's and Subaru STI's in the past two years in Solosprint I had a fair idea of what to expect from those cars - on race rubber they can be VERY quick (Kyle Lynch in an 500+hp STI beat me on TMP when I was running my 8PSI setup) it wasn't the car that made me nervous - it was the driver!
I had no intention fitghting for a spot into turn 3 with a potentially fast car on STREET tires driven by someone who I've never raced before so I made a bad call.
AHAHAHAHaH good job Pat!!!

I think the officals at Delaware don't like to see imports win all the time. They all hop in there mustangs and chevys after its all said and done to go home. KOTH isn't the most rule tight event either. What I should have done was just sit there at the line and waited for him to come around. Maybe they would have restarted it then. But when he did what he did I just had blood and fire in my eyes and hit the gas to go after him.

The class thing is a big part of it. The black 5.0 I raced before him came back up the side of me after I beat him and gave me a thumbs up. Thats cool. You'll notice the black 5.0 on there board as well.....I like the part where he says "Before I knew it, he was gone".

That was not right. They should of restarted the race. If the offcial never droped the flag to start it was not a race.

Look at it this way, he admitted it publicly. A REAL dirtscum Stanger would have been, "It's not MY fault the rice-driver was napping! He must have been scared to race ME! I don't have to prove nothing now by racing again..."

He is still a douche bag. If anyone wants to argue the degree of the doucheness with Troy feel free.

I would only consider undouching him if I saw him repent for his sins wink

Perhaps this Killer5L guy can talk him into it.

I think he's got different reasons to call Venom out...
And he does this while jabbing your "4 banger".

As if, the cheat would have been justified if you weren't a 4?

That sucks that he took off like that. At least the audience knew what really happened and you handled the situation very professionally. There is not much more you could have done right in that situation. Definately take him on next year. Let us know when your doing it and maybe we can get some club dsm members out that night to support you. (And watch Mr. V8 get schooled.)

I just noticed that one of the mods on the mustang board closed the topic. Must have got a PM from "VENOM". "Can you please stop this beating Mr.moderator? I can't take it anymore." boohoo.... Im not trying to come down on this "VENOM" guy too hard. I am just truly pissed that he pulled the stunt that he did for one big reason: because it was going to be one hell of a race. Its not everyday that you get such a level race between and import and domestic, especially heavily modified ones. All that the KOTH event had seen before was "VENOM" steam-rolling everyone that ever came out. I could probably beat this topic till I am blue in the face. Instead, I'll save the beating for him next year. It will drive me right through our cold winter months. "RUN VENOM RUN" hahahahaha

Thanks for all the support and we would love to see more board members out to some of our events.

Agreed, if you can come back next season bigger and badder chances are a head start may not matter.
