Does anyone else have the problem of the lower molding around the windows on the doors peeling off and leaving an ugly chrome strip in the middle of the car? Mine is almost completely gone, and it drives me crazy!
My car isn't in the best shape, but atleast its all consisten colors (if not consistent shine or lack of rust). Does anyone have an idea for how to fix this, or at least make it a bit better?

Hey!

This is what I did to those Door Trims a few years ago; I used a Razor Blade and cut away all the Rubber stuff leaving only about 1/8" or the perimeter of the Strip. Sanded the Shinny stuff and painted it using some Black Rubber Paint.

It has held up since then.

Some have said that you can buy those strips from Tal Mitsu for a reasonable price. That would be an other alternative.

Hope this helps.

Ghislain.

I'm pretty sure someone here said that you could just buy new ones from Talahasee Mitsu for around $25 USD.

Mike,

I'll confirm what Steve mentioned... I was one of those 'someones' that ordered new Belt Moulding (the actual description of the trim piece) from Tallahassee and they were somewhere around $25. I can't remember the exact price off hand, but I can tell you it wasn't *over* $30.

the only piece of advice I'd offer if you do order new ones tho, is make sure that they pack them very well. They are long and thin and if poorly packed, they could be damaged in shipping. It didn't happen to me personally but has happened to atleast one DSM member I know.

Like what Craig said....

I ordered mine from Conicelli for that $30USD range, but received the first set "well torqued" in the mail. Second set came much better packaged, straight, clean and ready to install...

Mike Jackson's Quadcylla is sporting them now as I sold the '92 AWD before I got around to the installation.
