Me too!

Hey guys just blew my tranny last night, it went a couple days after racing a V8 Firebird.....i won of course lol...wondering if you guys know anywhere to get a good priced tranny close to Ottawa?

Parked for the winter anyways....but wanted to fix it this winter when i put the bigger turbo in.

Shawn, try speedstyle, and if not, call the Buckingham junkyard, in Buckingham... Check the yellow pages. They had a good tranny there last time I called.

The Ottawa guys have had a couple of meets in the past and at one time there was a web site. Not sure what happend to the site, but I could find out. I did alot of work to my NT this summer and wouldn't mind showing it to you guys. Add me to the list and keep me informed on whats happening.

Man have I been asleep on this one, been totally out of the loop. Board went down for awhile, I had to look elsewhere to feed my 'net' addiction and I decided to check it out again this morning at work and "Woohoo! It's Back!!"
Gates, count me in for a Club Ottawa DSM. If you need any help with any programming as well let me know, I do ColdFusion, ASP, Javascript, DHTML and of course the basic HTML, and some graphics design for a living. My car is away for the winter but the new job is providing me with some extra bucks to throw around so I'm planning some mods this winter as well.

Excellent! I'll definitely be adding you to the mailing list once I have compiled it. So far our numbers are growing rather well, we are definitely past the require number of members for rather large discounts pretty much anywhere, so things are looking great!

It seems that there's a lot of interest for this in the upcoming season. It should be a good one. Be sure to keep me posted on anything and everything.
My car is still a work in progress (isn't it always?) but I'd like to show it to everybody once it's back out in the spring.

I can arrange for some discounts and possibly some sponsorship for the local guys from TappAuto. Maybe some of you guys will be interested in some dyno time?We can discuss it further once everything is under way.

I know John Armas works at Speedstyle. I've already made arrangements with them to further discuss my plans.

All the people interested in an Ottawa DSM club should get together sometime this winter. It would be cool to meet everyone else before next season. We could share ideas and brainstorm or just talk about our cars. It doesn't have to be right now, but when we all have some spare time. Just an idea. Let me know.

Pat can you Dyno a awd ?

you can dyno an AWD if you convert it to FWD. there aren't any AWD dyno's in ottawa.

In fact, there's only one dyno in the Ottawa area. Tapp Auto is the place to go. It takes about an hour to convert it to FWD and then just strap it on the dyno.

I have a G-tech. For those of you in the Ottawa area, maybe we can meet one day and find a place to test 1/4 mile times. The winter air makes our cars perform better, a natural intercooler

I'll bring the G-tech with me when we get together for the next meeting. (hopefully before the snow comes)

Sheraton, that's an awesome idea. When did you want us to get together to check out the times? (It's definitely a good idea to do it on a less-snowy night if you're aiming at getting some realistic quarter mile times... ;P

I also like to see some G-tech times.
I have a HKS type1 TT which has measuring capabilities(o-100km/h , 0-400m etc). I`d like to compare it with G-tech and post the results.

Also if anyone holds a datalogger with a 1G harness, I will pay for datalogging time as I am having some tech difficulties right now.

Please let me know asap, preferable once this first snowfall melts if it ever does!

my cigarette lighter doesn't work. does that mean i can't use the G-tech? i will be friggin disappointed if i can't get some measure of a quarter mile time.

Tuesday night is perfect for me. I'll be there.. just name the place.

Cigarette lighter is a piece of cake to fix. Just bring your car and well get your G-Tech times in somehow.

I'm in, we just need a time and a place.

Hey Sheraton, i went out rallying on Friday night after we got sh!t on. it was hella fun, especially since this is my first winter with the talon.
Dan, i drive a 92 white Talon Tsi AWD.

Dan, I drive a dark green 97 Talon tsi AWD.

John, yeah....it's alot of fun to drive a AWD car in snow. I'll let you know if I'll go out rally tomorrow night or not.

Sorry about the delay, guys. I was out of town for the weekend trying to get things straight with what's been going on with my car. I'll write you a more detailed message at work in the morning.

Anyway, everyone is getting together Tuesday? I might be able to swing that, but I have no Talon to bring to the meet yet (mine is, uh, I'll tell ya the story tomorrow morning)...

Anyway I can still make it though, I have a white 1984 Mustang 3.8 that I keep as a beater on the side. Not much, but it gets me around for now... What's the scoop?
