Found a few good deals on some EVO VIII stock rims/rubber. They're 17x8, +38mm offset.

I have a feeling these will rub somewhere. Can anyone confirm?

Nick;

My summer setup is 17 X 7, 38mm offset with 235/45 tires. So dimensionally, it is similar to your 17 X 8 with 38mm offset. My car is lowered only 1" and I have no rub any where.

1 inch on the rim width, but the tire width will be very close. Stock tires on the EVO are also 235/45/17. It will be slightly wider with the 8" wheel though, as the 7" will pull the sides in a tiny bit.

I used to have Lexus GS400 rims on mine, 17x8 235/45 r17 tires. I don't remember the offset, but I'm sure you can find it out. If it's the same, then this post would apply smile

The tire rubbed against the inside part of the wheel well (towards the engine), when you turn all the way in either direction. Other than that, no problems. My car was a FWD, but the previous owner had an AWD and he said he had to trim something in the back?!? not sure what exactly he was talking about, but he made it seem like it was part of the suspension.

Edit: They are +38mm offset, and my car is a 1G FWD.

Also, the clearance between the front strut and the tire was about the thickness of a credit card, so it also depends on the tread depth smile
