Hi guys,

I'm having problems moving the rear caliper back down and over the new break pad I installed. It's the break pad on the wheel side that's giving me problem. I'm able to backup the piston so I'm able to clear the pad on the piston side. Does the top pivot pin adjust vertically so I get more clearance for the caliper over the pad? Mine seems be locked and unadjustable.

Thanks

Your sliders might be ceased. This happed to my rear calipers. I pulled them apart and lubed the sliders up with some "Anti Cease". They work great now. Give this a try. You should be able to move the sliders in and out by hand. If not they are definatly ceased.

Compress the piston as far as you can. It will fit over.

remember with rear calipers, you can't compress with a c-clamp. You have to spin the piston in.

Yep, I got the piston compress back. I'll try compressing it fully tonight. But from what I can see I have compressed it enough to clear the pad but it's just that when I press the caliper down on the pads. The outer part of the caliper keeps hitting the outside pad. So I'm guessing the caliper would have to move more to the outside to clear the pad and go over it.

You have to turn the Piston in inorder for it to go in enough for you to be able to put thye Caliper back in.

Also; Anti-Seize is not the best thing to put on the Brake "Sliders". The best is Brake Lube goo.

Anti-Seize will dry up in no time and you'll be having the same problem in no time.

I use a product made by Permatek. You can get the s#it at Crappy or any Part Store.
