I have 1g aWD Man Talon that had the transmisson cracked. It was replaced then the wheels locked up and also the tranfercase was replaced too. I been told it maybe a gear ratio problem....I'm looking for someone who has at least some knowledge of DSM's to do the work .... don't trust any shops unless recommended from people on this site preferrably in the East End of Toronto/Pickering. I have had contact with Nick Boers whom from all the post seems very knowledgeable but does not have the space....Really really need to get the beast back on the road ASaP
Thanks

Well I'm pretty sure everyone on here can agree that Magnus is good with DSMs.

Maybe give them a call. Not the cheapest, but they're good.

I'm going to have to tell you to try and drain your fluids in your tcase, tranny and rear diff. I suspect you'll find low to no fluid in the diff or t-case.

drain all ur fluids and see the condition.. if all are good try dismounting ur transfer case or drive shaft at least and try spinnin the rears... if good go on to front if good then u do have a ratio problem.. i dont know if its a smart idea to try running the car in front wheel drive for a couple of seconds and see what happens.. if thats good then u deffinetly have a tranny problem.. maybe transfercase coupling

When you replaced the tranny after the other one cracked, how far did you go before it locked up again? Also was the tranny out of the same year/model car or was it a JDM tranny?
Some of those do not share the same ratio's between years. Best bet if you can get it unlocked, elevate all 4 wheels, mark them and then rotate them quite a few times and see if after 20 or so revolutions the backs and front's still match up.

Unfortunately, I don't have the technical know how to do that and the person who replaced my tranny didn't not understand the DSM or do the research to help out.... my engine is a JDm..... I had Chrysler look at it they wanted to charge and Extra $1000-1500 to figure out it it was the tranny of which they knew all ready..... BoB I'll buy one for you and then you return the favour....fair

Take it back to the place where you got it done in the first place and tell him to fix it properly or give you your money back.

How hard is it to elevate the car, just put a brick or something similar under the supension and make a chalk mark on the tires?

The Mechanic done that and each time he did it he counted differently but thanks for the advice

Dunno if this is what has happened to you but I had stripped the splines on my tranny output shaft (or was it input!?!) and when they fixed I drove for a bit and then rear wheels locked up. It turned out that there are two spline variations (21 and 22 tooth?) and, somehow, either can be assemble to the tranny!

Sorry, I can't think of an east end shop I'd trust at the moment...there is Mister Transmission.
