I have decided to start from scratch with a new car and a new engine.
I just got my new engine back from Armstrongs last week and thought I would share it with anyone interested.
I started with a 6 bolt Block and had it bored 20 over and JE pistons stuffed in the holes. Got the crank ground and balanced. And All ARP hardware.
To see what I have so far just check out my cardomain page and look on page 4. I will add pics as I add more to the engine. I would post them here but I really have no idea how. Maybe someday I will figure out how I managed to get them on cardomain but cant get them here!
I managed to get 402 WHP last summer. So next I want 500. I already have everything needed to do it. And the car to do it. I just need the time to get it done. So as I add more to my engine I will post them on my page.
All I am waiting for is my head to arrive and thats when you will see the big changes on this build up!
Enjoy.

You made 402WHP with the 2g piston 1g rods combo? How is it holding up? Good luck on the new setup bro. Are you planing on using nitrous?

91AWD->FWD 2G pistons, ARP (main, rod and head), ACT 2600, 72Lbs injectors, RS49T, MSD External Pump, Megasquirt, FMIC+2.5ICP, 3"Turbo Back, FPR, CIM, ported 2g exhaust manifold and O2 housing

It held up just fine. I took the head off the block in the fall and pulled 2 pistons. And everything looks like It did after I put it together.
I removed the crank and had it ground and balanced and will be putting it back together. (the engine had a rattle on cold startups and this will fix it)
It will be going in a 94 TSI FWD I am building.

The New motor that he is building is going into a 2G AWD. The motor that he is refreshing is going into a 1G front wheel drive.

Hey Troy, I am building a similar setup on a 94 TSi FWD, my goals however are around 425-450whp. How do you plan on getting all that power to the ground?

Did I forget to mention that this new engine I am building is going in an AWD?
And I gave up on the FWD 2 years ago when I hit over the 300 hp mark. Drove me nuts that I couldent go anywheres. Although Breaking lose at 120KPH is fun...
And as for the FWD I am putting my old engine with the 401 hp in, the owner of that car can deal with that problem. I think hes getting a set of street legal slicks to help out.

Yeah, no more FWDs for this guy.
My Truck is a 4X4. My winter beater is a 90 TSI AWD. And of course my 98 GSX.

Good luck on the build up Troy. I thought you were weren't supposed to grind these cranks though. Something about nitride hardening.I only polished my 2.4 crank didn't cut it at all.

Had to grind it. Has some small marks on it.
And I had the guys at the machen shop check it over and they assured me that there is no kind of finish on the crank.
And since its Armstongs, and they build engines for stock cars all over North America. I can pritty much believe there word.
I was with you Allan tho, I thought the same thing.
And as for th e title... I ment The.. Sorry, I will change it...

I think the newer NEWER engines have the Nitrite hardening. I wouldn't think the older ones would.

Why would we be able to unleash 500hp in Nova Scotia as opposed to Ontario? I'd like to think a car that powerful could be tweaked to pass your E-Test if it was necessary. wink

I wondered the same thing. Although we do not have any kind of E Test. It will be here some day. Some major changes comming to nova Scotia in reguards to vehicles. Like the MVI is being changed. And to keep my Inspection liscense I have to take a course next month to upgrade.
