While my motor is being rebuilt, I am shopping for a new sexy valve cover to add some visual appeal to the engine bay...
Here are the 3 I am thinking about, which one should I get? (Car is black, BTW and the brake calipers are red, so color coordination would be good smile )

I'd go with the chrome.

Go with red, w/ polished letters.

I want polished once... just too much bling and not enough contrast.

I say go with #1. #2 looks to plain and #3 is to much bling.

#1 looks the best. #3 is sweet, but it's nice to be able to see the 16 valve dohc 2000.

Putting chrome parts in your engine bay is a good way to make everything else looks dirty and rusty. smile

I'd go with # 1.

My fave colour is red so I'm partial to number 1.

There's also this one,
[Linked Image]
Which looks kind of cool, but my wife looked at it and said:

"that looks too much like something that funk master flex guy would put on, or whatever his name is....." lol
So I think that might have put the brakes on that choice. Still a nice cover though.

I cahnge my mind. That candy red looks yummy.

Is there a valve cover place you are buying these from?

Just Ebay.

There are two vendors I have been talking to, both are very nice and offer great products.

The candy red one pictured above is actually a Hyundai valve cover, but it has the same fit and bolt pattern as ours. I am kind of undecided about that one though. When my motor comes back, it's going to be pretty ferocious, and that candy red one might look at little to "candy ASS" for a motor with the reputation of the 4G63. I might just opt for the bright red one with the nicely polished lettering after all.

Dan, I have a Hyundai cover right now and it's just not QUITE right. It's damn close, but not quite. The thing leaks like crazy so I'm going back to my old one now that I had it sand blasted and I just finished painting and clear coating it.

I'm not saying you'll have the same problem as me. I'm just telling you mine isn't perfect. Plus I had to buy all new hardware for it cause the stockers weren't long enough.
