The only reason I see for an auto is to be able to drive to work, eat the Mc Muffin, drink the coffee, yell at the kids in the back seat, and talk on the phone. And still be able to functionally move in traffic.

Ya, that and the wife can drive it to smile. In some cases, that can make the difference between owning a talon and not owning a talon. If the wife couldn't drive it, it becomes just an unnecessary toy, not practical, and sold....but if she can drive it to....it becomes far more practical and realistic smile
So, maybe the question would be would you prefer an automatic talon or NO talon??

Cool. Need to do mine, am hoping for similar results.

I know, I know, should have done it before buying it...but it was cold out, and it ran good....and did I mention I got a great price?

Hey, I didn't do mine before I bought the car!

Worse part is, I found CHAMPION plugs in there!

Prompted a quick trip down to Crappy and got some BR6ES thrown in within 30 minutes.

Car feels a lot better now.

Ziggy, you have to update your sig!

Another post to get Ryan all excited!

Doesn't change the Aveo thing though... even though I absolutely love driving the Aveo. I think it's a really cool car myself, and I'm rather jealous of him.

Hey, my stock Auto on Saturday was cutting 1.9 second lights on a 3000rpm launch spinning off the line. They aren't ALL that bad.

What are the mods to you tranny Marke? All I've got is a Translab Shift kit with the Red spring, 19,000GVW cooler with -6AN SS lines and an Alto Red Eagle End Clutch kit.

Auto is for business women, soccer moms, and old men. Real men drive stick, auto takes all the skill out of driving your vehicle. Who cares how consistent you are at the track? It's not you driving the car, it's a planetary gear and an ECU doing all the driving for you. Put it in D and press a pedal down.

Your reaction time, your skill as a driver has nothing to do with anything when you are driving an auto. I would rather remove my manhood with a butter knife than drive an auto sports car.

That's my 2 cents.

I'm not saying that my goals are any more important, or better than your goals. Because they are not.

But I think someone running 11s on a manual is more impressive than someone running 10s on an auto.

but your car is sexy nontheless. I'm not trying to knock you at all, this is just my own personal preference is all. When I get to 50, maybe I will buy an auto sports car. But that's only if I have carpal tunnel, tennis elbow, dislocated shoulder and a bottle of viagra in the console.

I'm not saying a Celica isn't a girlie car, but it's still 5spd smile And it's a 90, with the pop up headlights, not as girly as the new ones, or even the bug eye ones.

Nothing like being at 5000rpm mid corner and having the car decide to shift for you...

...Next you'll be trying to convince me that brake by wire, throttle by wire and steering by wire are a good idea. Or that Lexus start button that doesn't let you turn the car off while you are moving (unless you know the trick). Heck, my computer at work froze the other day and even holding the power button for 30 seconds wouldn't turn it off, had to unplug the damn thing.

If computers were so damn smart they wouldn't need us anymore. I'm the owner, I tell my car when to shift. Period.

I drove a Lexus IS-F, using it's paddle shift was a blast. I'll take a really good paddle shift car over anything else.
