Hi guys,

I've been around for a few years, then disappeared for a few years, and now that I'm back in the DSM scene (well, I will in a week or two), I was thinking and realized that it's been 10 years since the last DSM model year was out. Due to the rarity of this car, and the abundant amount of support we get on this site, I thought it's about time that I pay the membership fee, to help out the guy who runs all of this. Can you imagine owning a DSM and not having this site and its members as a resource? Afterall, I've sold a lot of junk on this site over the years and it's about time I share some of it with the webmaster. Plus, I've lost almost all of my knowledge with respect to DSMs and I need to rekindle whatever is left in the old memory banks. Thanks!

As long as the webmaster wants to receive donations/membership fees, I think it's a good opportunity for me to ask people on behalf of the club, old and new, to pitch-in if they can. Sometimes (I know I do), take for granted that this site requires time and MONEY to run. I've run a site before, it does cost money.

Click on the "Hall of Honour" on the left hand side for more info. I just looked and noticed that the list has shrunken significantly over the years. frown Yes, I did take for granted and didn't click on anything on the left side of the page for years!

Webmaster, check your Paypal tonight.

If I've overstepped my rights by posting this...please delete.

Cheers!

Good call Jason, glad you posted as I forgot to donate this year. It's definately not an issue to post about donating to a resource we all rely on!

I am glad someone finally posted this...I have been meaning to for a while now....the year is half over, and the hall of honour definitely looks a lot smaller than it used to!

I totally agree with you, Jason. Club DSM has been an awesome resource for info, community, and parts trading for me... I've also met a few cool people along the way. As long as I'm around, my name will be listed in the hall of honor smile

How does it work exactly, and how do we donate, what are the options?

I know something like the DSM license plate frame is one way...

Thank you to the original poster for bringing this to attention. I never knew we could donate. I would like to thank Andrew also for this site.

Hey I should contact Andrew and see how many plate frames he has left. If anyone is interested, he lives like 5 min away from me so I can pick some up to bring to the invasion. I ll PM him to see if any are left if anyone wants one.

Yes, funding this board is a good idea. I agree with all of you AND I shall do my part here as a member and vendor. Donation/funding/Vendor Sponsoring just sent!

I surely appreciate this board above and beyond being a forum. I cannot find any other online group, car-based or not, that has this level of camaraderie, technical expertise, sense of community, fun yet free from junk that plagues most car forums.

Other ideas that can augment membership fees and donations, through fund-raising activites (dyno runs, track fees, gatherings/raffles) and sales of trinkets. Nothing new, as many other boards do it. I'll be posting another thread to show you what I can bring to you wink

Well as a member who cannot donate at this time I sure do appreciate all you donee's, as well as the staff. My talon has been put away for years now, and my progress is slow and financially restrained, having this site has helped me develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence to completely rebuild my car. I am not a mechanic and have no training of any kind so CADSM is truly a vital resource for me. Hopefully when I am no longer a student I can make some contributions of my own. Thanks again to all you great people who make this hobby possible for us average joe's!

-cheers!

Hey....I'm not a parts WHORE.....I am a parts PIMP...

I think bringing license frames to the invasion is a GREAT idea. Andrew should have TONS, but if he doesn't, or you can't reach him, I still have a lot also.

Also, is it too early to start on a 2010 calendar? I know you DON'T want to try to do it in the last few weeks of the year like last year...

I think we should start getting everything together for the calender.

Get everyone on board, and get a lot more interest.

I definitely want one this year.

I WOULD suggest finding a more local printer this year....
Maybe some pics from the invasion could be included?
I would maybe even THINK about doing TWO calendars...a 1g and a 2g calendar?

Two calenders would be a great idea.

I MIGHT know someone who is capable of doing calenders, and he's local (to me and Ziggy I guess).

I'll find out from him what the going rate is for a calender.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the support. smile

I don't know if it's related to this thread, but just two days ago, someone named Greg on a gmail account, offered to buy the whole thing from me... wink

I have no idea why he wanted it, and he wouldn't put a price to it, so I told him to take a hike. I thought a price tag might be entertaining to you guys...

Anyhow, not for sale!

Yes, I have lots of license plate frames, just fire over $20 and your address, and I am happy to mail a pair out to you.
Ziggy has some too.

On the calendars front, you don't have to go any further than your local CostCo, if you want. Have a look at their website, as you can upload, plan, preview, etc... and then just pick them up at the nearest location to you. (and costco is cheap!) smile

Thanks!

Yeah its good to know the board doesn't have a price tag. Its nice the way it is and any changes would just take away from what the board really is.

I will be picking up a bunch of plate frames, If anyone decides they want them just make shure you have 20 bucks to spare. If you dont have plate frames already, It cleans the exterior up quite well smile ! I like to rep the club as I drive around.

I could definately use another set of those suckers, for my new DSM wink ... I'd feel naked in a DSM without my ca.dsm.org frames.
